After Hunter's recent wins over Bakole and Ustinov, Kugan on IFL mentioned a possible fight in the works being talked about between Hunter vs Takam for the future. I think it would be an amazing scrap personally and not sure which way I would sway entirely on who would win. What do you guys think?

I’m new to hunter, I saw him fight bakole and Ustinov and became a fan straight away.

He’s not very big for a heavyweight but he fights well, his timing is excellent and he doesn’t waste too many punches.

He was really drilling in those right hands against bakole and Ustinov and while he may not have one punch knock out power a few of those big rights really take there toll.

I’m looking forward to seeing him fight again and he can definitely beat takam in my opinion

Nice one! My first good impressions of Hunter were back when he faced Usyk. He fits even better in the HW division. I think his size is fine and Takam is a very good name on his resume if he wins.

I was thinking about this fight too next for Hunter. Takam isn't too big and is a proven decent heavyweight and is old and so on the slide. Would be a good next opponent for Hunter. Though I think it's still a risk, Takam is better than Bakole and Ustinov and I could see him punishing Hunter on the inside where his defence can be sloppy.

Just like people are saying this would be a great fight. Takam still has more in the tank and Hunter could definitely beat him. Bakole, Ustinov and Takam wins would give him a great resume. Hunter is looking promising for sure.

I'd say Hunter by close but clear decision at this point.

Hunter didn't want to take a fight so soon and was contradicted by his own guy Rahman . If it's on December 22nd date that Rahman said he's fighting on after his Ustinov win it could work against him against a more seasoned Takam.

Limited training time gives Takam an advantage but I think Takam needs a stoppage to win , Hunter could adjust to boxer or punchers . I would have to edge the fight to Hunter in a close hard to score type fight.

Hunter is a great talent but I think he's one of those unlucky guys whose natural weight falls between CW and HW. I just fear his advantages of talent and movement will get neutralised by the much bigger HWs using their strength, weight and size to tire him out.

Even in decisively beating Ustinov, you could see the trouble he would have with the top super HWs....

Hearn said it was planned for the undercard of the Whyte Chisora fight.

Hunter by KO. Takam has looked very vulnerable of late. Parker, Povetkin, Chisora, and the bodybuilder Joshua have all had their way with him. He's a C level, not a B level heavyweight, like most people think.

Hunter would most likely beat Takam on work rate and earn a decision. That said as much as I like Rahman I think he’s a bad fit for Hunter. Ronnie Shields would’ve most likely been a better trainer for him, since Hunter like a lot of former cruiserweights has gotten sloppy with his conditioning. Hunter would be a lot more effective at around 205-208, which is pretty much his in ring weight at cruiserweight instead of coming in at 213. Guys seem to think more weight means more punching power or that it will keep you from getting bullied by the larger heavyweights when it doesn’t. More weight only slows you down and a guy like Hunter can’t afford to give up one of his few advantages at heavyweight.

Hunter can’t punch and his timing isn’t that great, so he’ll mostly be out hustling guys at heavyweight to win decisions, but he won’t be able to do that against guys like Whyte, Ortiz, Joshua, Wilder, etc. if he’s carrying excess weight.

not sure he will fight any top tier hw's. by the way he was talking he just wants the usab belt his father had.. and once he gets that he may go back down to cruiserweight if usyk vacates belts.
