Dirty ****, hit him low out of frustration then when he clearly punched him when opponent was already down. Looked fat an sloppy
Eddie Hearn kept him away from being a theat to anyone. He beat Povetkin in reality and it should have been him against Whyte last August....
Can someone please explain where the hype for Hunter originated? I don't get it. He's old and his biggest accomplishment is losing to Povetkin. I'm not very impressed with his physical talents either so what gives
He lost against usyk at cruiser and did ok against him. Moved up to heavy and teed off against some solid names. Then beat the hyped up bakole and drew with Povetkin who just stopped whyte in a couple of rounds. He’s good! Ok he’s small compared to the likes of AJ and Fury but he’s entertaining to watch, gives 100% and has been avoided imo. I like watching him fight and I think he can give the likes of whyte and hrgovic a tough night
He smacked the guy square on the chops when he was on a knee. Hunter is a good but never a great heavyweight. He's completely overrated on here, when ironically Usyk is underrated (at heavyweight). He's the hipster's choice. People trying to look smart and edgy by proclaiming that he will be a top dog. James Ali Bashir said that he would clean out the division on the Bayloric TV YouTube channel a few times. It was 5 rounds it took Povetkin against Whyte, not 2. And he was down twice, which is way more than Hunter was able to do. Hunter himself was knocked down but kept up by the ropes and it was not counted as a knock down, and that is what gifted him the draw in the end. People don't want to hear it on this forum, but Whyte would handle Hunter.
I disagree. Hunter is far more accomplished as an amateur. Gold at Golden Gloves & U.S. National Championships. Silver at Golden Gloves & Bronze at World Junior Championships. Whyte had a background in kickboxing and MMA & turned pro with very little amateur boxing pedigree. Yes, this doesn't mean Hunter is superior to Whyte in the pro game but I just think Hunter is a better boxer, has a better boxing brain and would outpoint Whyte. I think Whyte should never have left Mark Tibbs. Would be a close fight though and Whyte could easily KO Hunter, but for me, I'd say Hunter wins.
That guy he was fighting? I've got a mattress harder than that guy, I'll wager he has a full time job instead of boxing
Hunters good, he’ll beat anyone that has flaws, big cumbersome types, but it’s clear he faces the same problem all cruisers face, the leap in size. Really off putting dirty performance from him there though against what looked like a fat light heavyweight. Other fella was ballsy though
Most on here had Hunter beating Povetkin. Beat Bakole who prior to the fight was favourite and a very hyped prospect at the time. Only fighter to drop a durable Kuzmin and beat him very convincingly.
Hunter apologized immediately and was clearly bothered with the incident. He is a good guy and an exciting fighter to watch... but he needs a good promotor and real challenges
Eddie Hearn check mated him and kept him out of play. He kept him "busy" against people like Povetkin and Bakole and then didnt pick up the renewal contract for him. So he's condemned to the sidelines.
I think he lost vs Povetkin and get a gifted draw there. However guy was good and I don't go like " champ and winner or 0 " mode. Cool boxer. He needs to be more mobile, this posted fight. Vs Usyk he was considerably more watchable and in better shape. Nope, I will not go harsh, lad fought prime Usyk version, props for this. better division than HW in terms like " opponents " age for top guys for sure.
