    Thats an interesting point.

as soon as this fight was announced I felt hope for Jennings but this margo thing is the fly in the ointment to my way of thinking.

There is a chance Cotto will come out like a f**kin maniac because he feels cheated.

Either way I actually forsee a pretty good fight

Jennings name is being made based on the fact that he's facing Cotto. After that...well...let hope Jennings does more then Gary Lockett did in terms of leaving an impression.

Yeah, I see that too. Jennings is no pushover, he's just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

  5. Of course he has a chance against Cotto.

Jennings is an experienced decent quality fighter with a decent chin and a will to win. Cotto is coming off a first defeat and a pretty dramatic and systematic beating of a defeat it was. He may very well take that defeat out on Jennings, but then again he may not be the same fighter who stepped into the ring against Margarito.

Jennings will be looking to take this massive opportunity he has been given and I'm fairly confident he's going to make a real fight of it.

Jennings might have a few moments in this fight. I expect a better and braver effort than the one we saw from Gary Lockett. He is a noticeably better all-round fighter than Lockett, although without the power that gives him any sort of "punchers chance".

However, his skillset is really that of a European level fighter. Good jab, good style, nice straight punches, okay movement and speed, and his best asset is his fitness and stamina. However, he has little power to keep the pressure of Cotto off, not much variety to his offense, his body is a big target as he has a tall wiry frame, and he's never been in remotely this class so it will be a big shock to him.

I think he'll start okayish, and get worn down to the body and eventually the head and stopped around 8 or 9. The only positive I can say for him is his natural style is to jab and move on the backfoot, so hopefully he can keep away from Cotto for some time.

I don't know enough about Jennings, and styles make fights, so I won't say.

wanna make an avatar bet out of this?, actually never mind.....normally i would, but i like your avatar, so i dont want to see it changed cuzz you picked Jennings to beat Cotto

i've seen this man fight (thought it was only once against Takaloo) and he's bringing nothing to the table Cotto hasn't seen b4

in fact i'm 100% positive this will be Cotto-Gomez II........tall?, skilled, composed?, uber fit fighter huh?, with no real power?....tell me who that sounds like, starts with a Go and ends in a Mez

the boy has no real shot at beating Cotto, he can only hope that Margarito ruined him

Michael Jennings is better off fighting Cotto. Either way he gets his ass kicked. However, against Cotto, he gets more money and he at least has a size advantage. He would have absolutely no advantages against Williams and would have next to zero chance of pulling out the upset.

NOt sure how relevant this is ..but all this doubt as to the crediblity of Cotto and wether he can come back strong and such. Margarito wore him out wid his face , Cotto was outstanding against Margo, Landing all kinds of punches ,hooks, uppercuts etc...altho Margo walked thro them ..Cotto totally outboxed him ..i gave Margo respect for that victory , altho now its validity is in question.

Jennings maybe real good ,But Cotto is Quality ,People forget the heart of these guys , Mexicans , Puerto Ricans , general South Americans are filled with heart and pride ..one defeat wont deter or break that heart ..Cotto aint done he just beggining

Cotto he;'s coming off a loss, who knows if he'll ever be the same. Williams is hot right now and would beat the **** outta him.

All the best to Jennings for this fight, would love to see him pull off a huge upset, however I feel he has just been picked as an easy fight back for Cotto who will no doubt look to stop him around round 5.
