It now looks certain Jennings will face Cotto. How much of a fight will Jennings give Cotto? Will he put up more of a fight than Gomez for example? I've always been impressed with Jennings. He's very fit, talented but just not fast or strong enough to make an impact. What are people's thoughts on this match? Complete wipe-out?
Is it certain? I've read Cotto isnt all that happy about it so might not take it, whereas Arum has said its that or nothing till Margo in the summer. Slightly more competitive than Gomez but Cotto will be able to take the **** and stop it when he feels like it imo.
Jennings is very resilient though. His conditioning is excellent, just doesn't have the strength to slow Cotto down. Should be a fairly competitive fight, no?
I honestly think Jennings is in with a shout Anyone with his boxing ability, fitness and ring smarts has a chance, and no-one knows what the beating Cotto took has done to him. Cotto would rightly be a big favourite but this is hardly lamb to the slaughter !
If Ian Brown comes in with him the coolness might kill me. If Jennings goes 12 rounds, regardless of the outcome, that would be excellent. I'm a big Cotto fan, but in this instance I'd love it if Marg has mentally scarred him beyond reproach, I'll be rooting for Jennings all the way.
I had Jennings winning it , he landed more punches , but Mutley was able to catch him with a fair few crunchers. it was real tight , Jennings didnt seem happy with himself in bwtewwn rounds and I dont think he expected to get the decision though.
ross minter was able to land with alarming regularity. i am afraid this could become a one sided beat down. really hope not cause jenno seems a great kid.
That is my only concern he boxes really nicely but he can be a bit easy to hit. I can't tell why ( admittedly I'm no expert ) but his defence seems fine, I dont know what it is he's doing wrong ( bringing a hand back to the gaurd too slowly or something ?) but he does get hit. :huh
