This has been speculated on for the back half of 2019, since both former amateur standouts & current pro undefeated featherweights are signed with Top Rank. This would be contingent upon Stevenson getting past Christopher "El Pitufo" Díaz next month...and Conlan giving up his Ahab-like obsession with avenging his amateur loss to Vladimir Olegovich Nikitin, who doesn't look to have transitioned impressively and the beating of whom adds nothing to Conlan's already floundering profile.
No guarantee he gets past El Pitufo, I'm actually leaning Diaz in that one, but either way, I doubt Conlan can beat Ash-Shakur.
Stevenson isn't a KO artist, so this would end up being a long drawn out embarrassing beat-down for the Irishman. Díaz, however, would knock out Conlan and Nikitin on the same night.
Honestly that might not even be guaranteed revenge for Conlan, as poor as Nikitin has looked in the pros.
