Katsidis deserves I would think around 650k to fight Khan. I think thats fair, he'll give a great fight.
Is that so? Then why was it shown on the scene that Schaefer contacted them and then Katsidis team said Khan's team were scared and would never have done it. Khan even said that he'll take on Katsidis on his Twitter. Then there were reports that Katsidis didn't have interest in Khan because they wanted to see the outcome of JMM-JD winner. So you decide who's telling lies.
Katsidis can be built into a real attraction if he fights the right guys down at lightweight. He might be the closest thing we have to an Arturo Gatti type guy right now. He can box and brawl, get busted up, staggered, dropped and still come back throwing bombs. [Not to say he can't beat Khan, but it's a pretty big risk moving up fighting a bigger, and probably faster guy at 140 right now... another loss and he's starting to look like an "opponent" instead of a genuine attraction like I think he should be]
"I have been approached by [Golden Boy CEO] Richard Schaefer [about Khan]" "I've spoken to Richard Schaefer [CEO of Golden Boy, Khan's promoters] who likes the idea and would like to do a fight with Katsidis and Khan" ^ This if from an article where they prefer Murray to Khan. Hmm, now why is that? Not really 'offer' quotes but that's all I got. Katsidis camp haven't really given any indication throughout this that they wanted to go through with it in the first place to be honest.
Here are some other quotes; "Michael says he would love to pull the hat-trick with Amir Khan [as well as Mitchell, Katsidis also beat Luton's Graham Earl in 2007]." "I am confident in saying Khan's team have viewed the tape of Michael against Kevin Mitchell and a cross would have gone through Michael's name immediately," "Michael Katsidis has never pulled out of a fight with Amir Khan... we have never received an offer to fight Amir Khan." So just to reiterate, you have no proof that an offer was ever made to Katsidis. I can't sat that I'm surprised.
