Its fair enough to a point though..and I understand that. Mitchell showed to be more well rounded then he had in previous fights and put on a disciplined, smart boxing display against a guy who was an alright fighter..at the very least a physical powerhouse for the weight. But I have noticed a trend of people comparing Katsidas and Prescott like they are similar fighters or something. Different kettle of fish stylistically for Kev to deal with and Katsidas does a few things clearly better then Prescott ever will. Wait to see if those things are the difference or that Mitchell has an answer...looking forward to it.
I think Katsidis is a very live underdog. I see the majority of boxing experts picking Mitchell based on speed and skill difference and I agree he's a very good talent and improved somewhat, but Katsidis is not just a brawler with heart, he can be pretty effective in boxing mode and his mental strength will help him if it gets to the later rounds. Even in Mitchell's hometown I'd say it's 50-50.
Mitchell will probably fight in a similar way to the Prescott fight in which case I think he will win. If he gets in a brawl he may bite off more than he can chew. Genuinely difficult one to call though. Think I might go see it live.
yeah im 50/50 on it- mitchel has wicked punch resistance tho, but again ahsnt been in with the calibre of mick so... all round be a good night im sure!
Mitchell has looked a different fighter since hooking up with Jimmy Tibbs. Jimmy has young Kevin thinking about his boxing and using his boxing skills. Gone is the gung-ho brawler we saw vs Johansson. Now we have a clever little operator with ability and a good dig. Jimmy Tibbs is the difference in this fight for me and shows what a good corner can do for a fighter with talent. Jimmy has Mitchell listening to him and has all the experience to guide Kevin to a wide UD or late stoppage. Should be fun all the way!
