I thought Diaz took the last 4 rounds off Marquez once he started pressuring, I think Marquez is a spent force and Kats is going to KO him unfortunately, he will bring too much heat for a battle worn 37 year old JMM

There's no way Katsidis KOs Marquez. Marquez is gonna wear him out with clean effective counter punching and win. I won't predict a KO for Marquez but there's no way Katsidis beats him. Age won't be a factor and Marquez will be just as game because he wants a third fight with Pacquiao.

If Katsidis can control his emotions and not go in to hard too soon he is in for a chance. Controlled aggression is the key. I feel he has to cover up wear Marquez down with body shots (liver) for the first 4 rounds to slow him down and explode in the 5 round onwards. If Katsidis can avoid being cut to shreds in the first 4, he is a real chance for a 7th or 8th round stoppage.

If you're going to do it for no other reason that you like to study fight tape, fine.........otherwise dont waist your time. Katsidis wont have a clue of where the counters are coming from, he's never seen anything like Marquez, a fighter who has an answer for every punch you throw.

This fight imo is going to end early. As somebody's already said, Katsidis' chin has already been cracked.

I'd normally put a healthy bet on a fight like this for Marquez, but I'm not touching this one with a ten foot pole. The chance of father time catching up to him and Katsidis fighting the fight of his life because of his brother are big red flags for me. I'm sure it's going to be a hell of a fight, though.

It is very possible. I also think stepping up in weight to 145 or so vs Mayweather for a payday will come back to haunt him. At his age just not good to go up and down in weight like that. Sometimes a fighter gets old over night like Mosley who took a layoff after Margarito and looked exhausted from the opening bell vs Floyd and then fought Mora to a draw.
I don't think you can ever count JMM out at that weight but nothing lasts forever.

Katsidis is lucky he does'nt have you in his corner.
What you described was exactly the fight plan Juan Diaz used in his rematch of Marquez......Diaz ended up happy to just survive and cross the finish line.

Please, a crude fighter like Katsidis is not going to have sucess against Marquez fighting a controlled fight.

Katsidis' only chance is to come out fast and furious like Mike Tyson........he's got three rounds to get Marquez out of there, but the likely scenario is that he's going to run into a bomb of a counter, right in the very first round that puts a hold to that plan, if thats indeed what his plan will be.

He's also got the experience of a high pressure under his belt in Diaz. He's already figured out how to beat him and he will need to adjust very little IMO to figure out Katsidis.

Boxing boards are full of this sort of circular reasoning.

He's been fighting lower quality opposition recently. Why is it lower quality? Because they lost to Katsidis. He got found out when he faced the better comp. How do we know they're better? Because they beat Katsidis.

If JMM loses he will be tossed into the lower quality opposition pile because he lost to Katsidis and is therefore "shot".

No room for a guy to actually improve or to simply prove he's better than the more well established fighter.
