Not sure if too many of you keep a close eye on Marley. I do. Just for pure entertainment.

Anyway, during the infamous "conference call" he was humiliated by Bob Arum. Arum was really pretty nasty to the guy. He obviously upset him.

The next day (this was days before Ellerbe spoke) Marley broke ranks, and claimed that negociations were nowhere near as advanced as Arum was claiming, that nothing had been agreed, and that they hadn't got any further than initial talks.

And the rest was "Arum just blowing smoke into the media, as he can't get Pacquiao to move on drug testing".

I was thinking "What the hell is going on here!?"

Marley continued to take a impartial stance, criticising Arum and Paqcuiao for about a week.

A friend of mine commented "yeah, just wait until he sees the cheques going into his paypal account from examiner. He'll be hating on Mayweather again within minutes!"

If you've seen Marley's last 3 articles, the turnaround is amazing.

He's completely changed his stance on negotiations, and has now reverted to his usual "Gayweather, chicken, gay, ***" line.

He's got an interview with Arum, sucking the guys balls, 2 weeks after he openly accused him of exaggerating the entire deal.

He's made an admission that "I was criticial of Arum, and claimed that he was exaggearting about deals being agreed, but looking at all the facts, I've decided that I was wrong"

So what happened. You decide. I have three scenarios

1: I did notice that Marley was getting hardly any comments on his anti Arum articles. Less than 30. He averages about 400 for anti Mayweather stuff. Did he just decide that he can't afford to be impartial?

2: Did Bob Arum see what he was putting into the media, and just bought him off? It seems odd that 1 day after his first Mayweather hating article in a month, he's posting exclusive interviews with the guy he previously labelled a liar himself. And he's telling the world how great Arum now is.

3: Did he just fall out with Arum personally? and it took him a few weeks to get over it.

i used to read his articles too, just for the chuckle and just to support the guy. i always took them with a lot of salt tho. but lately he has become really boring. you can only read so much garbage. the jilted woman articles you mention was the last straw. everybody could see thru that.

btw the guy actually reads thru forums to try to get the pulse of readers. so friendly advice to your marley, you need to tweak your style a bit bro. your old one is getting stale.

Marley loves page hits. He's as much of a Pac hanger on as Koncz.

Arum disrespected him so he freaked out and blogged about it like a dejected middle school girl. Now that he jumped the gun on what happened, he looks like a ****ing idiot as usual. I don't believe anything Marley writes. Too biased to whatever suits his view at the time.

I can't believe how cynical he does it though. He doesn't seem to care that he has articles on his page, from 2 weeks ago, saying the exact opposite thing that he is today!?

As in, this is totally true.

Marley was very critical of Pacquiao taking on Margarito two weeks ago. He claimed he was cheating fans, and it was a pointless bout.

Today he says "while Pacquiao is bravely taking on the much bigger, stronger and taller Margarito"...............

    You know!?

I used to think he just loves the boxer Manny Pacquiao. As in he's just a big fan.

It seems to me that it's a bit more cynical. He just writes what he thinks people want to read.

Examiner bloggers actually get paid dependent on how much traffic they can generate to the site.

They don't get salaries. Or guaranteed money. It's "pay-per-click".

I know, as a friend of mine writes on there.

That's why every single Examiner boxing writer, doesn't bother writing on anything but Pacquiao.

As they make more money on that subject

I think a lot of his early stuff was based on speculation just like everyones opinion on here. As he got more information from both sides he changed his stance. Theres not much to write about in boxing these days, at least hes trying to keep the two biggest fighters relevant even if they wont fight each other.
My feeling is that Al Haymon and Shaefer were all on the same page, hoping they could negotiate on Mayweathers behalf and present Mayweather with a deal that he would go for. Remember they dont get paid unless a fight actually happens and the money thats involved is nuts. I dont think at any time did Mayweather instruct Ellerbe or Haymon to negotiate with Arum for a Pac fight. I think they did it on their own and now they're trying to cover their ass.
