Two speedy heavyweights both with good power and questionable chins. This would be a great fight. Who wins and why?

Prime Dokes actually had a pretty good chin.. He was knocked out by Coetzee but was on drugs for that fight and Coetzee could really bang. He was also able to take all that Weaver could give over 15 rounds, and he stood toe to toe with Evander for 10 rounds and though many people question Holy's power he got alot of guys out of there.. The hooks Ruddock landed on Dokes would take out damn near anyone so no disgrace there plus Dokes was on the back end of his career at that point..

Moorer vs Dokes, speed is close, Moorer has a bigger punch I think, but Dokes catches better.. Hmm its a tough call but I will pick Dokes on points as he'll be the busier fighter and out work Moorer..

I'll go with the southpaw in this. That's the on style those 80's guys never fought as any sort of pedigreed southpaw. I can see Dokes, like others, confused and just not solving the guy. And lets face it, Dokes had some of those can't solve a guy efforts like that first Ocassio fight. Or those Cobb fights/Young/Chaplin.

That was the thing with those 80's guys. Their A game was a pleasure to watch but they sure did bring that B game from time to time. And there was such a massive dropoff between A and B games. The only guy who didn't have that big gap was Holmes.

At any rate, a sharpshooter and accurate guy like Moorer gets out of the gate well I think and that forces Dokes to fight from behind and he has to put on the shoes of a slugger, not a boxer. And I just think he gets confused by a southpaw and get hits often enough from this opponent that he hesitates.

And Moorer at least kept those hands up high which helps defensively. It was a Dokes that dropped those hands in there.

Moorer handspeed wasn't near Michael Dokes.Greg Page's was, and Moorer wasn't half the fighter Page was.Michael ends this in two rounds.

Just who did Dokes ever ko? He had fast hands and landed clean picture perfect lefthooks but where were those ko's ? John Gardner? First Weaver fight? Ocassio 2? Then who? --and there should never have been an Ocassio rematch because there should never ever have been a gift draw result in the first bout.

On his day,Dokes was a very capable and talented fighter. His speed would enable him to decision Moorer.

I can see Dokes win by stoppage in a similar way he did with Weaver. Moorer did not have a great chin and Dokes with his fast hands could land and Moorer would be hurt.

Moorer was very overrated, and Dokes had a certain toughness to him that he carried over from the amateurs. The fight doewsn't lasts past the sixth round, with Dokes doing what he wanted en route to a stoppage win.
