how could Moorer edge Hill? Hill had 10 defenses and was undefeated before Hearns beat him.. Then he had another 3 titles and 15 defenses. Moorer win the title and then loses it soon after. I don't see how Moorer deserves Hall of Fame. He had a weak chin and could not hold the title long at all. Virgil Hill has something like 200 championship rounds and 25 championship fights.

I am still troubled that Gatti went in and not Moorer due to Moorer being all around better than Gatti and because there were so many other thrilling blood and guts warriors that came before Gatti.

If you use Gatti as a benchmark there are HUNDREDS of fighters who should go in instead of him.Moorer being one, but there are still better fighters not in than any of Moorer, Gatti or Hill.

I don't hate on Gatti getting in. It's a hall of FAME. Gatti was an icon. He's an atlantic city legend, and one of the top grossing attractions in the history of the sport. With fame the key word, he belongs.

But I won't argue that there are a ton of fighters who belong in there who can't seem to get in.

No you said Gatti, but most people considered Mitchell and Judah better than Gatti at the time. Hatton, Witter, Cotto, Corley and Harris were around, it was a deep division. Then Mayweather was around from 04 onwards. Dorin was allot of people's favourite to beat Gatti, but beating him never elevated him above the top 5 in most peoples rankings. I'm not sure how the Ring had it though

I actually remember ESB posters ranking their top 10 in '04 and most had Gatti rated around 5th, but it was a deep division.

I agree. Overall I think the hall does a decent job, but I think the voters goofed up a tad this year by excluding Moorer but including Gatti.

Doesnt Gatti have the most or tied for the most FOTY winners, i mean name me some fighters with 3 or more and i think gatti had 4

he won 2 titles in 2 weights and fought everybody

he was a throwback guy who respected the game and kept fans interested

i dont get why people are so against him getting in

Basilio was in the Fight of the Year 5 years in a row.

Gatti was definitely a solid fighter and has some good wins, but he also lost to the best oponents he faced and aside from briefly being a title holder never really over came solid contender status.

I dont think people get the hall of FAME part. Gatti is easily more iconic, and did more for the sport, than Moorer. Gatti's name will never die.

But the IBHOF is fickle, and there are guys that really should be in there.

I get the fame part, I just think that if they're going to lower their standards for an induction or two, they shouldn't brush aside fighters who were of higher calibre. They let Tyson, Chavez, and Tsyzu in all at once, they should have put in Hill, Gatti, and Moorer at one go too, in my opinion.

Hill is borderline hall of fame. It's a disgrace if Moorer dosen't get in.

Gatti is in for obvious reasons.
