    A. A physical beast but we cant really say how good...his opposition was just so poor and the best he faced gave him a pretty good run. Was never going to have a long career there, the weight would have eventually got to him and some say it already was when he left.

    B. To low to even worry about. Way outside of the top20, which is about as far as I bother.

He was a animal and a freak of nature, Head 2 Head he would be a right up there with Spinks,Moore, and RJJ.

He was a true Kronk starvation case who quickly outgrew the division. Hard to rate.

He had some serious physical tools and a mean streak, but he never showed that he was on the level of Spinks, Moore and RJJ.
He could have been there, but there is not enough evidence to prove he was that good.

There's plenty of evidence to prove he wasn't that good at Light Heavyweight. I tend to think some people evaluate his success at Heavyweight and therefore just assume he must have been an absolute destroyer at Light Heavyweight but he got hit often down there and was hurt against less than stellar opposition. No real evidence on show to suggest he was anywhere close to a head 2 head monster at this weight.

To selectively quote Frank Grimes from The Simpsons:

Difficult to say, as he wasn't there long enough to face the best.

As being ATG depends mostly on achievements, that means he simply doesn't belong there. You can make a better case for him in some H2H matches - he had very good power and his lack of chin wasn't as critical as in HW, but I still wouldn't overestimate him. .

I agree. He still did the same stupid **** he did at heavyweight, standing right in front of his opponent getting nailed cleanly. He was powerful and had a good offensive skillset, but his defense and chin were always a big downfall. He would have been beaten by the better fighters, he just never faced any down there.

We don't agree too often Lefthook, but it's nice when we do. :good

I took a hard look at Moorer at 175lbs the other day, and he was too easy to hit. When fighters would throw their own shots, Moorer would cover up and wait for them to finish, and that's not the best means of defense when you're fighting big guys between 175lbs and Heavyweight. Literally no head movement, and he rarely punished his opponents mistakes.
