Yes.i know that reply from the most of the people .. "Mooree was not proved" "moorer did not beat anybody at lhw"
Still he had brutal power at lhw, he was a monster physically at that weight he was a cruiser that could make 175.jones was more a big mw and very fragile compared to double m.the chin of moorer was not the best AT HW!!! At lhw was another history. Moorer had brutal power with 100% of ko and jones never had the best chin.. Sure jones COULD outbox moorer but i pick moorer to catch him and knock him out

Jones at his best was hard to hit on the chin. I'd give Jones the benefit of the doubt against more ATG light heavies than I would Moorer. Plus, Jones had ATG punching power at LHW too. I'll go with the faster, more skilled puncher.

I'd go with Moorer, but I wouldn't use the word "destroy".

Moorer had serious problems with a faded Leslie Stewart - and that was Moorer's best win at 175 lbs. Don LaLonde and Virgil Hill had already dented Stewart's chin early in fights before he fought very competitively with Moorer.

Prime 175 lb. Jones was scarcely touched let alone hurt.

Jones has the hand and foot speed to box around the straight ahead Moorer attack.

There is absolutely no evidence to indicate Moorer would win this, let alone "destroy" prime 175 lb. Roy Jones.

Sure, Moorer could punch at 175 lbs - if you were right there to be hit. Prime Roy Jones would not be there to be hit.

Jones, and frankly it would be convincing.

Intriguing fight. Superb boxing talent from Jones and powerful punching from Moorer .Jones is going to be moving In this bout , He's not standing around to trade Moorers Chin was never tested fully at light heavy but I see Jones bouncing some off it here Question is ..how's Roy's hold up when his gets tagged?
I'm of the opinion that Roy is i n command for much of the fight ,putting space between him and Mike, but moorer Will start to connect as Jones slows down .
And then quite late on , moorer finally nails Jones sending him down .I don't see Jones recovering from this
So yes IMO Moorer wins but has to come from behind on the cards.

175 Moorer has become a mythological figure. If he was actually half as good as people on here fantasize him being, I wish he had stayed in the division longer so we could have actually found out.

Fights with Prince Charles Williams and Virgil Hill would have answered a lot of questions.

As it is, I wouldn't favor 175 lb. Moorer over Charles Williams, let alone Roy Jones. Williams's 175 resume is much better that of Moorer.

Here's Moorer's 175 lb. competition after the Stewart scare. As WBO champ, Moorer held the weakest of the FOUR LHW titles at the time.

These guys make Roy Jones's questionable quality of opposition at 175 lbs. look like ATG's.

Another vote for Jones. Jones would be too smart and too fast for Moorer. He would play it safe, and pot-shot his way to a UD. As hard as he punched, Moorer was often a reluctant dragon when faced with movement.

He certainly exhibited KO power on many occasions
