Yes it's hard to tell what he may or may not haven achieved because he barely fought anyone there. He could well have had a weak chin at 175 as well but it's impossible to know. Of course there's a chance he may have been damn good too. I'd favour Jones on what we have I think.
Deflection. Your weak examples were Jake LaMotta going to middle weight for the very first pro fight of his career and a small heavyweight entering the brand new division of cruiserweight. You have got to be joking me with this. You can't even address a question directly without running your mouth. It's a simple question. What boxer has successfully dropped TWO divisions at that level and age. You have no answer. Your done. Log off while I'm feeling generous.
Byrd was a career heavyweight who regularly weighed over 200lbs for years, who then inexplicably dropped down to 175 at the end of his career. Dawson was a career 175lber who foolishly took Ward’s bait and paid the price. Roy juiced his way up to fight the biggest joke of a heavyweight “champ” in the history of the sport and then crowed about being the heavyweight champion of the world. He then returns to 175 and beats Tarver. That part is always conveniently left out. If Roy had gotten ethered by one punch in the first Tarver fight the weight loss excuse would’ve been more convincing. Let us also not forget that Roy was punked by Tarver during the introduction of the rematch... “YOU GOT ANY EXCUSES TONIGHT, ROY!?” You could see the fear and confusion in Roy’s face through the tv...
All four fighters suffered when they burnt muscle. Was that just a coincidence? I’ll trust seeing those guys struggle and take the word of both Mackie Shillstone and John Scully. “Have you got any excuses tonight Roy?” The famous words spoken due to him not believing that Roy was drained in the first fight. Words which came back to haunt him. Because when he felt the same against Hopkins, he claimed that he’d been poisoned.
Why is it completely out of the question ? And it’s funny to me how the only part of my original post you responded to was cooper
Roy beat Ruiz at HW, who for all his flaws was better fighter than Cooper, who was a journeyman. I don't get why you call someone like Risko a bum but you believe that Cooper was anything special.
