I see Moorer winning this one in a comfortable points win. Thoughts?

I think Berbick would get in Moorer’s ass and rough him up for a decision.

Moorer was the better fighter because he beat prime Holyfield, Moorer would win definitely...

Holyfield had an off night but other than that I agree with you.

Berbick beat Pink, Page, Bey, and Tate. Moorer doesn't have a win column like that.

Holyfield, Botha, Schultz, Stewart, Cooper, Jirov. Moorer beat some pretty solid dudes.

Not as consistently good as Berbick'a. I don't really rate any of those guys at heavy except Holyfield, and he apparently had an off night and then avenged it. Pinklon Thomas was actually pfp when Berbick beat him.

No worries. We can agree to disagree. Schultz ,Stewart and Jirov were really solid amauter fighters and had some solid wins as pro's. I still feel like Moorer had the better wins at heavyweight but acknowledge Berbick had a solid career as well and his win over Thomas was very good indeed.

    1. Thomas was pfp and an undefeated champ. Holyfield was Holyfield but he avenged it and there are a lot of rumors about his condition in the first fight (shoulder and heart problems from HGH)
    2. Page>Schultz
    3. Tate>Botha
    4. Bey>Stewart
After that it’s Ali and Green, an old guy and a never was against Jirov and Cooper, a never was and a journeyman. I guess Jirov was the best of the four and Cooper was the worst.

We definitely disagree which is ok. Holyfield and Thomas were without question the two best fighters. Head to head between the rest would be interesting but I don't think there is really that much between the 80's and 90's guys. I still lean towards Moorer over Berbick and feel like he had the better career against better fighters but acknowledge it's close.

I watched Holyfield vs Moorer live in 1994 and Evander seemed off to me. Later after the fight it was said that he had an injured shoulder and an apparent heart murmur or something of that nature. They fought again 3 years later and Holyfield despite being five years older than MM destroyed him, perhaps verifying that the reports about his health in the first fight were true... That said I don’t see Moorer’s victory over Evander as being anything to reference for head to head fantasy fights. Bert Cooper was a tough guy and his bout with Moorer was an absolute action packed classic. But Bert was little more than fringe level and didn’t stay there long. He had Moorer down twice. One time I saw Everett Martin deck Michael on USA Tuesday night fights. Frans Botha was leading on points before getting stopped..... And then.... There’s Big old George......

Trevor Berbick had his limitations and showed up pretty lousy on some nights - occasionally losing to lesser men. But when he was hot, he was hot. He wrestled with the best of a division for nearly a decade and beat some of the best of his era. A solid natural heavyweight with a good chin, solid punch and the balls to mix it up...

I’m leaning towards Berbick by decision or late stoppage

Berbick stops Moorer late, behind on the cards at the time. Berbick better chin, more durable and a crazy fella, gets him the win over Moorer!
