Moorer seems to be getting a lot of play on here recently, how does he fare against another guy moving up to HW in Haye??? Haye of today who has had 3 fights at HW vs the Moorer who just beat Stewart in his 3rd fight at HW Who would win this encounter and why???
Moorer is more so seasoned and proven against bigger and better guys than what Haye has faced....... Haye has yet to take a giant risk and lay it on the line..... Moorer of April 1994 and 214 pounds was at his best....... But Moorer looked good earlier on HBO with his KO over Alex Stewart........ And his wins over Berton Cooper, Mike White and Melvin Foster deserve credit at heavyweight, too..... MR.BILL
I think the early Moorer the one that fought with Steward, would smoke Haye out early, that guy though he could be hurt was ferocious!! The later version the World Champion that fought under Atlas would be more at risk of being on the receiving end of a KO as he fought more cautious.. Either way though I see Moorer with the better chance here then Haye..
Here's a fight I'll have no problem picking Moorer in, especially at Heavyweight. Haye is truly uninspiring to watch.
Basiacaly I am sold on half of David Haye. His firepower really is all that has been claimed for it. Unfortunately, I see a number of potential gaps in the system.
Moorer by KO. A decision win over an ill Holyfield easily trumps Haye's entire career, leaving aside anything Moorer did before/after.
Im still wondering how good Haye is? A close ,some would say loss, to Valueav and a win over an old Ruiz proves nothing really.
I've seen plenty of CW Haye...I need more from him at heavy but I think Moorer is quite superior in skill. Haye will lose these H2H match-ups without more "proof" of his ability to take shots or avoid them against young men. His athleticism, speed and power are impressive, and I believe in his ego/will to win. I've seen him in tough fights at Cruiser and I've seen him sticking to a gameplan that's not natural for him to get the job done with Valuev. But, Moorer anyway.
Moorer. Haye starts fighting like a caveman when he has a guy hurt. Clubbing, frantic punching. Just look at him trying to finish Ruiz. :-( Haye hurts him, tries to corner him, gets the Cooper treatment. While winging wild shots a stunned Moorer, Moorer retaliates with far shorter, much more accurate shots. Haye takes a dirt nap.
Haye, and easily. Love the way people try to **** on Hayes achievements on here...I'm not sold on him beating the Klits and yes I thought the Valuev fight was close but put Moorer in against Valuev and lets see what happens - especially if he had to fight 10 rounds with a broken hand like Haye did. Time will telll I guess but for me Haye is the better fighter.
Haye has a good team........ After all, team Haye has made several mill thus far in the ring by fighting "Somewhat" safe fights / opponents...... Haye is NOT a risk taker........ Why should he be? Its obvious that team Haye are NOT concerned about a historical legacy in boxing, but rather a very lucrative business plan..... In a way, we have team Cooney all over again....... Haye and his team are willing to seek a decent opponent with a name who'll sell some tix and allow Haye's team to bank another mill or two........ Haye is NOT a gambler......... He is content with his WBA title and bank account........... Who can blame him for that?? BUT! Dave Haye will never prove to be an all-time great fighter / champion...... He doesn't care to be, either..... NO!! Haye is a $$$$ type of guy...... And he's making good digits with his current fight plan / schedule......... Moorer was more the warrior and fighter overall, who also made millions' and spent millions' on whatever...... Moorer, like so many others, poorly handled his cabbage patch.......... Shame........ I suspect team Haye is more wise......... STILL! Moorer is more the REAL fighter.......... MR.BILL
I have my own questions about the durability of Haye's chin, but how much of an edge do you give to Moorer in this department??? I don't remember him being KD'd at LHW, but he was down as a HW against: Everett Martin, 2X's aginst Cooper, 6X's in 2 fights aginst Holyfield, foreman (no shame there) in his first 4 years as a HW...is his chin that much better that he gains an advantage there????
