As the Markster him self says, Moorer s chin could be his big fail here. Gerrie had a good dig in his shots, I Can't not give him a good chance.
I like both guys here and I think this would be an exciting fight. I can’t see either man playing it safe. As some have already pointed out, Moorer’s chin might be an issue but frankly I think he had better durability than some might think. He won an all out slug fest with Burt cooper. And triumphed over Alex Stewart and An old Bonecrusher Smith who could still punch. Let’s not forget Coetzee was stopped a few times as well - though probably Still had a better chin than Moorer. Great fight. Not sure who wins and I wouldn’t want to put any money down.
I prefer Moorer in this one for an easy decision or a late knockout, but Coetzee might suprise us with a stoppage win.
This would be an excellent match-up with plenty of action. Gerrie was always fit and was able to move around the ring very well. I think his power is a bit inflated and his punch selection wasn't exactly expansive. While not as mobile, Mike threw very fast, fluid combos, really destructive when he got in a groove... and he didn't mind coming off the canvas. Moorer KO8
At his peak he was pretty good. Blew away L. Spinks. Went 15 with prime Tate. Hurt Weaver before losing a competitive war. Robbed against Snipes who almost stopped Holmes in his next fight. Drew with Pinklon Thomas. Stopped Dokes. Other than the close decision over a seemingly ailing Holyfield in their first fight I was never too impressed with Moorer.
