He would give AJ, Wilder, Fury, A. Ruiz etc a tough rumble.

Size isn`t that important when you have poor fundamentals like Buddy had, Mike White weighed 275lbs and was 6'10 but was completely out-classed by Moorer:

Baer was too easy to hit to fight Wildder, the fast straight right would take him out early like Breazale, AJ would have boxed Buddy`s ears off, far better combo puncher with a tighter guard, Fury is too skilled for Buddy, he would out-jab him and slip his shots with easy and Ruiz`s quick hands would be too much and he could take Buddy`s power too.

How in the hell is this thread 7 pages long when there is a thread about Joey Archer and Emile Griffin that has nearly no one reading? I don't get this forum sometimes.

I mean, nobody calls Buddy Baer a world beater. He was big, tough and strong hitting contender who was never elite in his era. This kind of opponent is always dangerous, but very limited. People call him trash or something, but he was actually solid fighter. He would never be a champion, but that doesn't mean that he was terrble. We had fighters like him in last 30 years too and nobody call them trash...

I sometimes think of him as the Shannon Briggs figure of that era.

He was very good at destroying B and C grade opposition, but might lose when he stepped up.

His power was of the kind that any fighter needed to respect.

Like a few contenders at that time, he also lost some of his best years to the war.

No I was just answering the question about size really, power would always be a problem for the fragile Moorer but he was a far superior boxer to Buddy and White is what I meant.

To beat Moore you have to be good at the worst Baer would not make that grade!

Wide swinging palooka he is Max would be countered to death he hasn't got the chin to walk down a puncher like Moore or the skills to make his power count.

You rate Old Foreman whom Evander credited as his hardest hitting opponent whom only shared the ring with the likes of Lennox and Tyson as a less dangerous puncher?

Cooper in the atomic bulls words was a more devastating puncher then any he faced with his left hook, look at Olivers resume of punchers... Moore went to war with Bert and got up multiple times and took it to him and came out on top in a slug fest when he was raw at heavyweight.

Max may eventually connect with something significant but i believe Moore's awesome recovery, skills, grit, heart and awkward style prevail in the end.

But Max hit harder than Bert Cooper, though.

Baer had one of the best chins in the divisions history.

He would be more than able to impose himself upon Moorer.
    Yes absolutely!

Although old Foreman still had his power, his reflexes had slowed, and his punches were easier to predict.

A prime Baer, with prime reflexes, would have been more dangerous than Foreman, at this point in his career.
Yes he beat Cooper, but he also has a couple of pretty bad stoppage loses on his resume.

Baer was one of the hardest punchers in the history of the division, if not the hardest!
