I meant that he was mostly tentative and didn't land his best shots on Norris (from my recollection). Not that Tucker had great power anyway.
Didn't get dropped against Stewart, got back up to knockout Cooper, got knocked out against Foreman late in after a perfectly executed plan on George's part, and declined past then. You can tell easily that Moorer became unmotivated after his first loss, and still didn't do too horribly against a roided out Holyfield. Had Evander on deer legs and got up multiple times ahead of the stoppage- Not that it's important, cause Moorer was past his prime.
Did anyone actually see this fight.... i have been asking for years but cant find any footage or writeups on what actually happened in this fight..
thanks.. boxrec doesnt tell what happened during the fight.. I have heard Norris was winning the fight and then got dropped and messed his knee up and then heard/read that Bert just went through him with ease.. hard to find an objective view of the fight...
I just use Boxrec to reference what I can't see organically, so it's all I got unless I've found footage. I think the previous is much more likely. If Cooper was going through Norris with ease, the stoppage wouldn't have happened in the 8th- Not to mention the Tyson incident and Orlin's knee there.
Technical decision for Moorer in 6 when both forget they are in a fight and the ref has to make a decision as to what to do.
According to LA TIMES : " Norris, 26, has fought most of his career as a heavyweight. In 1990, he was ranked fourth by the World Boxing Council. But Norris’ ranking dropped to 26th after he had to retire during a fight in February of 1990 with Bert Cooper. While throwing a punch, Norris became entangled with Cooper and broke a tendon in his knee." Interesting info after : " Before the Cooper fight, Norris was scheduled to meet Evander Holyfield, now the world heavyweight champion, but Holyfield pulled out at the last minute. "
