I am a fairly big Minter fan/appreciator.....But....I would look for Nunn to stay out of danger spots, use his height/reach to maximum effectiveness allowing him to control most of the pace and range/distance of the fight. Minter would have a few exchanges, but I don't see him doing enough to get to Nunn and get him in trouble...and I don't see him out boxing Nunn either...I would go Nunn 9-6/10-5 or so.
Now I like minter one of my favourites when I was young but nunn is all wrong for boom boom , nunn on pts if minter's skin holds up
Alan just lacks the agility & prowess of Mike. Mike is so much more gifted, talented. Alan would havea hard time getting to him and probably run into many damaging shots, busting up his features for sure Like the add says, I like Mike
Can't find an argument for Minter winning unless he has his best night and Nunn has his worst. I would predict a stoppage going the other way.
This one is Nunn's to throw away as height and reach would keep him out of danger as long as he wanted while Minters face got carved up. I cant recall Minter ever facing a really tall boxer and Nunn was very good at using his height advantage.(until about round 11!!)
alan minter...one of my favs too....wonderful to watch.....but as good as he looked the very top level champs would best him, nunn included i'd guess.
When thinking of this match up I can't help but think of Ronnie Harris's bout with Minter...if I remember correctly Minter was coming on strong but his cuts were really bad in that one...I see similarities in Minter-Nunn to Minter-Harris. IF (& it's a hug if) Minter avoids cuts and the bout is scheduled for 15 he could make life very awkward for Nunn late on as Alan was strong, with good stamina & a decent dig; however, I just think Nunn would be too elusive, awkward & cuts would become a factor before Minter's attributes kicked in. Nunn on cuts in around 10 rounds...
