Nunn was outboxing Toney before Nunn seemed to slow and Toney came on a bit. Many will tell you that Nunn by this time was not at his best due to drug abuse. It may be right, maybe someone can expand.
Nunn wasn't anything like he was for Tate.He WAS WAY MORE MOBILE,quicker and just seemed to be more focus vs Tate.Against Toney he didn't move nearly as much and his punches weren't as fast.
I remember being big time suprised, I was high on Tate at the time after he impressively beat Michael Olijade, I figured Tate was the Hagler successor. I saw bit of Nunn, pre Tate, I was not that impressed to be honest, but for three fights at least (Tate, Roldan and Kalambay) he looked for real, but the cracks began to show from Barkley onwards.... I find an intresting sidenote is if Nunn had outpointed Toney in their fight, Nunn would of got cained once again by the critics, for struggling against mediocrity.
