It is not just stop the BS. Kalambay is a better win then ANYTHING Canelo did. I don't put the GGG fight in there because he didn't win the first time.

Nunn actually fought EXACTLY like Lara when he was coming up except Nunn was faster.
And Nunn could pop when he wanted .

I don't like GGG or Canelo but Canelo lost that first fight. Fair is fair.

Canelo gasses and Nunn is better than Jacobs and Lara in every department.

I think you can build an ok argument for both. It's Nunn on points or Canelo by stoppage tho, that's the reality of it. Toney tracked down Nunn and he's hardly fleet of foot and Canelo hits harder. The flipside is Nunn was faltering by the time he fought Toney and many have claimed cocaine got him comfortably prior to this. He had been impressing less and less and is one of those fighters who regressed rather than improved just when you thought he might burst into superstardom.

So it's not as simple as taking the Nunn that Toney beat and assuming it might happen with Canelo, for mine. Despite a reasonably successful career Nunn is still a bit of a coulda, shoulda man.

I'd favor the Nunn from around 88-89 and Canelo from 91 forward.

When Nunn was first starting he was almost impossible to hit flush. Fights vs Ramos and such showed that - constant lateral movement all the time.
It got to the point nobody would face him so he changed up a little bit at first.
He had like what THIRTY FIGHTS before being given his title shot?
Supposedly before he fought Kalambay he was promised if he won a shot at one of the bigger names in boxing at that time.
Well he won and not only did he not get the opportunity at the big names he was so impressive that there was absolutely no way he was going to get them in the ring.
Nunn always had one foot in the streets and one foot in the boxing ring so when he didn't land the big fight it gave Nunn an excuse to run the streets.
After Kalambay he really no longer trained like he did pre title and you could see it.

And what full fledged middle weights has Canelo ever iced?

He's knocked out a bunch of people at 168. Maybe you haven't been watching.

He doesn't gas as bad as Canelo and James Toney would've done Canelo worse lol. Nunn was still clearly winning, Canelo barely beat Lara and lets too many rounds slip. Cement feet
