This amazed me a few years ago when i read it and i naturally believed it was all bull****. But its true. Its all about calories and when you train that hard you need every bit you can get. Quality of calories is nowhere near as important as the quantity when your a world class athlete
well this is a silly statement. it's not like he is getting the calories from deep fried mars bars is he? bread, cheese, energy drinks, all that good stuff isn't ideal if you are dieting down, but for a guy interested in PERFORMANCE its ideal. I have spoken with 2 other olympic medalists and their diet is incredibly similar to the one posted. Lots of loaded sandwiches, pizzas, energy drinks, one big clean meal in the day etc
Most of the food he consumes are high and high sugar which are hardly "quality" calories but there ideal cuz they high calorie is what i tried saying
I read the article and what i find hilarious is a comment from a nutritionist saying she recommends cutting out the egg yolks. She needs to get the frick out with that one. My grandpa who died in his late nineties would have laughed his head off at that one statement. I think as far as cholesterol go's what you eat depends more on your heredity, and genetics more than anything. Michael Phelps is a frickin monster fish! good luck to him.
