I think this kid has bags of boxing ability, talent, terrific skills, quick, good movement, but there is something missing. Firstly he needs to work harder during rounds, he doesn't put enough in, too much stepping off the gas and lapses in concentration. Also his head seems to drop when things aren't going his way. That left hand down to his bollocks **** needs to stop. Get that ****ing hand up! He eats too many right hands. His reflexes aren't as good as he might think, in the amateurs you can get away with it, not in the pros. Can someone tell me what the hell he is doing fighting at Light-Welterweight, he is too small for that weight, cant they see??! Has has some good combos and is quick but he is so feather-fisted, Williams was just walking through the kid. Also with Jason Cook, Cook was dragging him around the ring like a rag doll. Surely he can get down to lightweight, he would surely be more of a force down there and carry a bit more power. Right now he is a boy amongst men. At 26 years of age he needs to make a drastic change and fast otherwise English title level might be his limit. What are your thoughts fellas??
Looks like he hasn't developed from an amateur to a pro yet. He has talent though, no doubting that - I felt he could have nicked it against Williams last night.
I''ve seen a lot of fighters with the ability but with that "something missing", almost without exception they never find that "something".
You've hit the nail on the head here...he looks very very fragile at the weight and gets bullied easily...he needs to drop down to at least LW, and as daft as it is with a bit of effort he could be a monster super feather.
Spot on fella. Super-Feather would be even better. If someone like Ali Funeka makes it at LightWeight I'm sure he can shed a few pounds!
Williams or grant would make a good opponent for Frankie Gavin in his next fight (aftter tonight I mean)
Michael does not smoke. Just before this fight he and his trainer had decided he is moving down to leightweight for his next fight.
i was there last night and at prize fighter. Both times he looked over matched. He obviously got talent and he's got a great beard. But franky he looked out of his depth. He doesnt look like he enjoys being in there and this seems to affect his work rate. Certainly he needs to sit down On his punches much better. On the other hand i thought williams looked very good. I thought daws was unlucky not to get the win but gave away far too many early rounds.
He looks to lack heart when he has to face a guy who wants to punch back. Gifted figther but whenever the fight got a bit tough he was nowhere to be seen. He has great talent and everything a boxer needs to become a domestic success.
The fact that his management and trainers have had him at light-welterweight from the start of his pro career is absolutely crazy.
I think he needs to go to a trainer more suited to his style. Nice boxer but got to master his style to become more effective because he could be a champion domestically.
He was light welter as an am.... he lacks strength and isn't clever enough to pull off his smooth style.
