Michael Spinks beats Usyk

I feel like Spinks at heavyweight gets underrated around here. I think the reason is that Holmes aficionados want to claim he was spent heading into his fights with Spinks more than Spinks' loss to Tyson.

 

Usyk is not a boring fighter, he would constantly move into angles and feint trying get Spinks out of position to land.

 

Holmes was really sluggish in those fights.

 

And Spinks was maybe the least stationary guy he ever fought.

Holmes was levels above guys like Mercer at that time. Pretty damn good, right?

 

Possible may be able possibly will not be able to but what is clear is that they were both great fighters

 

This is true. Most people who underrate Spinks never actually watched the Holmes/Spinks fight.

No, Mercer was just a clumsy brawler at that point, Morrison was boxing his ears off before getting caught and gassing.

 

Those fights were awful.

 

Watch the first spinks fight and come back. Spinks was on fire

 

He just ran around pot shotting, Holmes was slow as hell.

His handspeed was good, but it was really basic, Usyk`s head movement and angles are better, Spinks often fell off balance after punching.

 

Of course Usyk is better. But Spinks was good
