I was trying to get a career set I fancied and I've narrowed it down to Spinks and Fenech. I have seen some fights and clips from both and I like both of there different styles. However I was favoring Fenech due to his general more crowd pleasing style. Don't get me wrong I appreciate Spink's skills but I felt he could be in some more boring fights and while I love boxing if I'm spending money I want to be entertained a lot. The only thing I am worried about is that Fenech will just dominate evreyone except the people he loses to. The fights I've seen him in he destroys his opponents with punches in bunches. I have Nigel benn's set and he just destroys so many of his opponents in non-competitive fights its a bit annoying. Wjo would you suggest? Thanks
Spinks had his offensive moments against Cooney & Dwight Qawi but what can I say about the action-packed Fenech-Nelson 1? If you favor action then go with Fenech's career though if I could pick one it'd be Spinks. I'd favor you to get Fenech's career set. Spinks was a beast at light heavy so if you get the time check out his fights on youtube and also check Fenech's fights to see which fights you prefer before making your final decision.
I respect Jeff alot.He was a real tough fellow. But Michael Spinks is definitely one of the 5 greatest lightheavies ever and arguable the greatest.
I get the sets based on entertainment and level of opposition (I made up that second rule after I saw 22 Nigel Benn massacres on 1 dvd). While Fenech has some good names on his resume that I know (Ive seen the Nelson fights) like Marintez and Villasona, I just worry it will be a bit of the same if you know what I mean. I like competive fights unless its some kind of unique masterclass
You won't fail with either one but only you know what you want. I hope you get the one you want and good luck in doing so. You won't be disappointed with either selection.
was wondering if anyone knew of a website where you can make up your own compilation of fights from a set list on to a dvd, eg bowe v galotta 1, morales v barrera 1, benn v mcclellan, rather than having to order the same fighters entire career set?
You can try boxingjunkies.com and order particular disks from the fighter's career sets. Say you want Bowe/Golota, you would go to boxingjunkies and order disc 8. I hoped I helped. I'm not trying to be an american hypejob lol.
:rofl thanks for that, its been puzzling me because a few years back i ordered some career sets from a website but i remember an option where you could build up your own dvds with single fights from a set list. i can't remember what site i bought them off though and recently i've been looking for that option to build your own mix and match dvd but i can't find a website that does it :huh
Without knowing what sort of fighters you like beyond what you've briefly told us, I'd go with Spinks. That said, you gotta make the choice. Either one will be enjoyable.
You're welcome:good. Earlier I meant to say disc 8 from Bowe's career set. They have Golota's career set too but you would have to buy two disks from his career set if you wanted Bowe-Golota 2 aswell. I hope you find that website you were talking about.
I have all those fights in EXCELLENT quality, I taped them all myself on SP. But I am not set up 2 make dvd's yet only VHS. I am going to purchase a home dvd burner soon to transfer alot of my fights. If you have no luck and want to go the VHS route shoot me a message.
Havent seen a lot of Spinks, he is a legend though I can guarantee Fenechs is definitely worth buying. Lots of action and entertainment.
