I'm as big a JC fan as it is sensible to be. I'd go with spinks on this one, no question. Just maybe if Joe had moved to LHW ten years ago and proved to be something special at LHW I might be able to entertain a Joe win but not on what we've seen of Joe at LHW.

What are you talking about Peter Buckley was a welter weight, Lennox lewis a heavy weight. Joe is a undefeated super middle now fighting at LH and just beat a ATG at that weight. Spinx fought most of his career at LH and failed badly at the higher weight. Joe fought Chris Byrd(and beat him at amature) who fought at heavy weight let alone LH. Eubank fought at cruiser.

Joe is now a SH and so was Spinks, what is the problem. It not like were comparing differences in several weight classes. They now fight in the same weight class. Joe a undefeated SM/LH, Spinks undeafeated LH/defeated Heavy.

Spinx reach is just one in more inch bigger then that of Hopkins.

Ahh, the old, "Your guy may have won on Saturday ngiht but he's still **** to me" thread. Spinks must not have been a very good light heavy because once he moved up and met a real fighter in Tyson, he got drubbed in 1 round. Moore, Charles, and Walcott sucked too, because they moved up and got drubbed by little Rocky Marciano. Foster sucked even more because he got hammered by the stubby Frazier and the weak punching Ali!! So all of their victories @ LH were meaningless. What a bunch of **** this thread is.

Calzaghe's @ freakin' 36 years old taking his first fight @ LHW. Spink's, one of my all time favorites, wa 31 or 32 when he faced Tyson. Calzaghe would surely do better moving up in weight against Spinks than Spinks did moving up in weight against Tyson. I'll even go out on a limb and say if Calz. had been fighting LHW 3 or 4 years ago with healthy hands, and his speed and smarts, he would have given Spinks a hell of a fight and possibly won.

Why do people ignore the change in weigh-in rules?

Calzaghe has long said he's struggled making 168, under the current weigh-in procedures.

In the early 80s, Calzaghe would most likely be a light heavyweight (even if there was an 168 lb limit back then), the same as Michael Spinks.

    Spinks by UD.

    Spinks, of course.
