I can see spinks giving the klitchkos hell with his style and awkwardness. fancy both brothers late or on points
Bad matchups for Spinks. Playing counterpuncher to Wlad is a recipe for disaster, he'd be a live underdog against Vitali though in the most bizarre looking fight ever.
chris byrd made him quit. they have never met anyone who was quick and a spoiler like spinks Tyson really deserves credit for smoking him early
I don't think Spinks has anything to protect him from the power and size of the brothers. Vlad's jab and right hand and Vitali the same I see Klitschko Stoppages
Byrd was at least as awkward minus the miniscus damage. Spinks was tall enough to be very reachable for both. Spinks could never last the distance against neither Klitschko , a mismatch.
Holmes and Cooney were **** , and while none of the Klitschkos is even top 150 P4P , they are better than Holmes & Cooney.
Larry Holmes was "Out-Jabbed" by Spinks and his herky-jerky style and the Spinks-Jinx i see him being the most difficult fighter either of the brothers ever fought. Spinks could fight 15rds at a good pace and size ment nothing to him as he chopped down 6'7 Gerry Cooney with ease. Wlad has hit the deck before and the likelyhood is Spinks pops him and pops him good KO7 Vitali is terrible on his legs and i see Spinks walking his way to a clear UD12
Spinks gets crushed here. He's got skills, but so do both brothers, both have size and strength here, and I'm not convinced Spinks can handle the power; Wlad moreso. Holmes hurt him bad on several occasions, and I'd bet coin that Wladimir is a bigger puncher with that right hand. He's a terrific 175er, but the guy just doesnt stack at heavyweight for me. He outhustled an aging and disinterested Holmes, and thats terrific, and a great win he deserves credit for; But he decisively lost the rematch(Horrible decision), beat a horrible version of Cooney and was then executed by Mike Tyson. One great win does not a great heavyweight make, or Buster Douglas would be a top 30 heavyweight. Besides the first Holmes win, his career at heavyweight is quite poor.
Two very bad fights for Spinks..glad they were from different times and they never happened..for Spink's sake.
The brothers do not have skills like what Spinks has skills. Holmes was not as far gone as your trying to make out, he went 24-2 after losing to Spinks including 4 world title fights. Spinks beat a highly motivated Holmes who was fighting to beat Marciano's record of 49-0 he could not have more motivation. Gerry Cooney matches both brothers for size & strength with Cooney having the quicker hands and more punching power. Buster Douglas is easily a Top 30 Heavyweight, his wins over Tyson, McCall, Page & Berbick put him in that bracket.
Holmes said he took him lightly, and improved so much over his first performance in the rematch, the story holds water. I've been in the ring with some great fighters, and Wlad's abilities are up there with all of them. He gets sold short cause he's short on opposition. I've been there, and he's a stud. Holmes was never successful in a world title fight again, and besides Mercer, didn't really have another quality win. Spink's heavyweight resume is thin, thin thin. 3-2(2-3 if you can score) with a 91 second knockout loss is not convincing me. Holmes hurt him, Tyson blew him away, Wlad can get to him and do the job too. Vitali I've never shared the ring with, but he's bigger, stronger, and hardier than Wlad. Spinks has a better chance with Vitali, but I still see the older Klitschko winning. Douglas, I don't rank as high as you.
Couple of them in the amateurs, but still. When you grew up around boxing, spent time in the gym with guys like Futch, Steward, and Jeff Mayweather, you know good boxing. Wlad's a great boxer. He's not gonna have an amazing legacy, but he's easily a top 15 talent. He'll belong solidly in the top 15 when he's done operating, I believe. Now watch Haye cream him now that I've said that. Would be my luck lately. Huge fan of Michael, think he's the best 175er to ever do it. I'm not awed by him as a heavyweight.
