Michael Spinks vs Earnie Shavers

Shavers by K.O. Spinks is very overrated.

60/40 fight for me. Spinks should win but Shavers could always land a bomb. Still i would take Spinks to outbox him for a wide UD win or a late rounds TKO if I were to pick the winner

 

VERY overrated. What did he do after Tyson? Cooney should have knocked Spinks out if he wasn't drunk and high the night before and
not at all in the right state of mind to box. I know Shavers had his problems, but the light heavy Spinks gets ko'd in this one.

 

Well the fly in the ointment is this---what guy had the best pair of legs that Earnie ko'd? Not stationary target opponents, but the guys with the best legs?

 

I'd make Spinks a 3 to 2 favorite

Jimmy didn't use his legs much. He was a strictly upper body movement guy in there.

 

Shavers lands early...it's all over...but he had some stamina issues...it has to be early...or Spinks by UD...

 

If I'm Butch Lewis I'm almost a little leary to put my man slim in there with Shavers before actually doing that fight. But, all in all my pick is Spinks by a fairly convincing 15-round unanimous decision!
