I was going to reply to this when you posted it, but my computer shut off, mysteriously.

Spinks was much more favored vs. Tyson than Holyfield was. Holyfield was the much more diminished of the two (Holyfield-Tyson) when they finally fought.

But you're right.. I was thinking of a heavyweight matchup more than a cruiserweight matchup. I DID MISREAD IT. So it WAS a good thing my computer shut off.

But.. Holyfield KO's him like he does everybody else at cruiserweight (once he gets about, say, 15 fights under his belt). Holyfield (generational talent) much too strong, even at cruiserweight. Body shots, early and often. Holyfield would have had an Archie Moore type KO record if he had stayed at cruiserweight. He wouldn't KO him as fast as Tyson did at heavyweight, for sure.. but KO it is... 8th/11th round? 12th/13th round? It won't go 15.

This wouldve been the crowning fight in the cruiserweight division we never got (Cooper,Spinks,Moorer, Holy) because the money was at heavy. I favour Holy as he is the GOAT Cruiser for me. He had a lot of respect for Spinks though, as stated in the ring magazine where he credited Spinks for stepping up to fight Holmes as a small heavy. I think it would have been a great fight, eclipsing Qawi/ Holy and showcasing both these great fighters. Holy by tight-ish decision?

Holyfield takes this. Busier, badder, indominatable. I think Spinks will have been used to people respecting that right hand rocket launcher but Evander will walk through it. They may have been similar weights but Holyfield was the bigger man, the more expansive fighter, already a fighter used to a war and I think his combination of youth, disrespect for this elder and the before his time old man attributes he possesses just makes him too much of too much for Mike.

Holyfield by stoppage. RSF in the 11th, Dr cites a broken soul....
