Foster was unfortunate to not have any success at HW and had to face guys like Frazier and Ali who just overpowered him. Spinks, on the other hand, was able to carry himself well into HW and even beat Larry Holmes twice.

If Spinks were to take Bob Foster's spot to fight Frazier and Ali on the same date that took place how well does he do against them and would he have a much better chance at beating them?

Spinks gets KOed by Frazier within the first 6 rounds I think a prime Frazier is a horrible style match up for him.

I think Spinks does reasonably well vs Ali giving him a few problems with his awkward style but gets eventually stopped between rounds 10-12 ? I'm giving Spinks the benefit of the doubt here as I think he's significantly better fighter at Heavyweight than Foster was and Foster managed to go 8 rounds with Ali.

Tbh i think frazier wins but Ali always had trouble with big tall fast guys who could punch him when he was leaning away (Bugner, Lewis) and Spinks was also awkward as hell on top. He probably finds a way but not an easy fight at all.

An eventual KO by Frazier. Spinks with his style could last a few rounds as Frazier wasn't as fast or hard hitting as Mike Tyson.

Spinks could have more success against Ali and an upset against that version of Ali isn't out of the question. But I favor Ali to stop him late or win a UD.

Frazier would run him over like a tank in five or six rounds, probably sooner (he had more early round KO’s than he’s ever credited with). Spinks would never be in it.

He could make some noise against Ali but I doubt he could genuinely entertain winning eight rounds.

I think Michael Spinks loses to both, but lasts longer against Muhammad Ali.

    Frazier wins within 5

I could see Spinks lasting the distance against Ali and making it close.

Spinks would have more success than Foster, since unlike Foster Spinks had no problem stinking out the joint if it meant winning the fight. Foster on the other hand let his pride cost him when he fought against top heavyweights.

An injury free Spinks had a chance at taking a decision off either Frazier or Ali for the dates mentioned.

Frazier destroys him, Ali toys with him and probably stops him late. Michael Spinks as a heavyweight is not remotely in the same solar system with those two in their prime, period.

Frazier stops him in 2 at the outside.

Ali maybe a couple more rounds.

    No chance.

Spinks might hang in there a while with a Ali before losing. Frazier on the other hand is a bad stylistic matchup for Spinks. I think Michael gets broken down and stopped sooner rather than later

I agree 100%. Spinks is a forgotten (by some in here) great LHW, but he's not going anywhere with Joe.

Now send me that avatar, life sized!
