Good post. And nothing you say here is controversial in the least.

I'd only add that the torn tissues in Larry's bicep might have caused the Norton fight to be closer than it might have been. But really, he needs no excuse for winning a close fight against Norton, who as you say, is hell for boxer types.

Cheers mate, i was going to add the bicep but thought it might be scoffed at and am not often keen bringing in excuses rendered due to the difficulty in weeding out the genuine. Some are obviously real tho, for sure.

Another point i was going to add was Holmes penchant for fighting down according to his opponent, but thought it too might be cast aside. I do believe it tho.

Prime Holmes would decimate Spinks in short order....period.

I've seen plenty of his fights, i just don't see him doing a 'marvis frazier' on michael spinks they way everyone here seems to think.

Only two have picked anything like that scenario, and one was after we started chatting. I don't see anything super early either but i can't see Spinks having bugger all success. He's got nothing to trouble a peak Holmes with apart from a bit of awkwardness but the sterling Holmes jab is going to stave off a lot of that.
