will it be like hearns-duran or like hagler hearns and tyson-spinks ?

I'll take spinks. He is so damn awkward and can land all of the insane punches necessary, keep rock off his game with the movement, and roll away from the big rights from the rockman

very realistic but can he maintain it for as long as 15 rounds ?
walcott , charles and moore too were as you mentioned but neither could win after 15.

I think it would be more like Jermaine Taylor vs Arthur Abraham with Spinks having more success early on by frustating the Rock.

I think a solid 200 pound Spinks of '85 / '86 has a good chance at beating Marciano of 1952....... Spinks' speed and boxing ability would fluster Marciano a great deal....... Plus, Spinks' power was still there at 200 pounds....... M.S. could whack-out anyone from 175 to 210 pounds in 1985 or '86 if his "Jinx" landed flush on a mo-fo's jawbone.......

BUT! We must assume that Marciano could come from behind as he did against Joe Walcott and park Spinks like a Cadillac late in the fight with a haymaker.... It's possible.....

Mike's slow start costs him dearly against an opponent with nearly 20 first round knockouts. Rocky had the chin to take anything in Mike's arsenal, and his body attack could send quickly send Spinks to the deck just as Tyson's did. Charles went 15 by smothering away Marciano's punching room and giving ground grudgingly. That wasn't Mike's thing though. If Spinks did somehow last long enough to fully warm up, he'd be faced with an early deficit to come back from. Catching Rocky from behind was a virtually impossible task.

I favor Marciano here. I think he'd bully Michael around and shake him up whenever he landed the right hand. Holmes was able to hurt Michael and nearly drop him with right hands, and I feel Rocky would be able to land some very hard shots. I see a Marciano stoppage here, not a beat down, but I think he was too strong, too tough, and hit too hard for Michael to over come. Neither were very fast starters, but Marciano seemed to turn up the heat more than Spinks did.

Marciano would surprise alot of his detractors by how badly he'd destroy Spinks. He'd shrug off anything Michael would throw at him and go to work rigt away..relatively sooner than customary, and end thfight in the third..Spinks would have been crushed no less emphatically than he was by Tyson, albeit two rounds later.

If Spinks can maintain his distance and keep Marciano at bay with his left then he stands a very good chance of pulling out a decision win. Marciano's reach is even shorter than Braxton's and he's certainly no quicker than Dwight is. Rocky has to get in close and take Michael's legs away in order to set him up for a debiliatating shot to the head. Can he do it? Maybe but I can see Michael outboxing Rocky as well with his speed and reach. Too many "If's" for me to pick a clear winner in this one.

No version of Spinks beats Marciano. Period.

Qwai was faster, possily as strong but not close to the level of power ..

Spinks was a huge puncher at light heavy, as big as Moore, and would be able to at least get Marciano's attention.

Think Moore was a bigger puncher. Cooney was old and weak in the temple.

I would bet on Marciano heavily in this match even if I was giving up some pretty hefty odds.
