Actually a very good match-up. This is Spinks fight to lose. If he goes in terrified as he did against Tyson he's toast. On the other hand, the closest fighter to Spinks Lyle faced was Young twice and we all know how that went.
The 1st heavyweight Spinks fought that was powerful and aggressive he was destroyed in less than a rd. Ron Lyle wasnt Mike Tyson. But he may have hit harder with one punch. Lyle also wouldn't give Spinks room unlike Holmes (past his prime, never a powerful puncher) or Cooney ( a total mess by the time he faced Spinks with drugs and alcohol) Lyle would press the action, make Spinks try to go side to side on bad knees I like Lyle by ko sometimes with in 6-7 rds. An upset.
as much as I disliked Spinks as a fighter, I have to say Spinks is too well schooled and too smart Spinks UD
Spinks matches up quite well here IMO. Jimmy Young outslicked Lyle by large margins twice and even tho Spinks won't be in the pocket like Jimmy was he will still be elusive and awkward. Spinks will always be one big punch away from big trouble but his concentration in dangerous affairs was more than proven vs an old Holmes and Ron is no Tyson.
