Harris floored Patterson and lasted 10 rounds with him, I think. Could Harris do the same vs Michael Spinks either the 175 or 200 version?

Roy Cut N Shoot Harris certainly did last 10 with champion Floyd Patterson on Aug 18 1958 in Los Angeles, California, even putting Floyd on the canvas. Michael Spinks could still hit as IBF World Heavyweight Champion, but had to settle with two verdicts over Larry Homes in 1985 and 1986, the second fight much closer. Harris, a former school teacher could possibly hurt Spinks, he hurt Floyd but I do not think that he could not put Michael on the canvas. Even though Roy is a natural heavyweight, he would not be able to deal with the Spinks Jinx and speed much the way he could not last the distance with Floyd, Spinks by TKO 11. Roy got destroyed by Sonny Liston in 1960.

Good post. Do you think that Spinks would have to be 200 to win or could he be 175ish?

I think that he would have to be in the 200 lb range to do this against Roy Harris, Thank You for the compliment my friend.

Roy Harris was a good contender. Beat Willie Pastrano and a few other and as already mentioned, stood up to Patterson pretty well. I’m thinking it might be a good fight but I’d favor Spinks to pull it out.

Can't add anything to Mr. Magoo's post above.

A good fight that Spinks should win.
