How they have more love for Mundine and Green I'll never know.

Mundine is past it and Green is a neverbeen thats having a late renaissance primarily because he fought the reincarnation of the corpse of Roy Jones.

 

He is loved in the aussie forum its just the aussie media that give him very little attention. His win barely made the sports news headlines

 

The Aussie forum is ridiculous.

Ok i wont judge a nation on a forums stats but hey, those boys and the better ones on th Aussie side, they know there beans.

Many a fight night over the pond, i asked of others, be it Kats, Hussain(s) etc............OH NOOOOOOOO SIRRRRRRRR !


You love Mundine, simply as you love him or you surfed with Danny previously.

Anyways, top thread and the fighters i mentioned, they do read the ESB :good

 

I mentioned Daniel Dawsons fight and lack of boost or reply, sure he was up against it and was found out easily.

I wont go into details, hard to explain.

Anyways.

premature stoppage in my opinion as well...let the man put him on the canvas for ****s sake.

 

There was a thread that touched on this on in Aussie forum (with the same boxers used as examples) this week and I they seemed to be saying that most Aussies like their boxers to brag and "put it about" a bit more than Kats does.

 

why haven't the aussies embraced the drunken master?

 

He hasnt fought in Australia for a few years now, its hard enough to promote an Aussie fighter IN Australia, let alone overseas.

Mundine is popular in australia because he was an ex rugby league player (a very good one might i add) with a big mouth creating headlines on and off the field in footy and then continued in boxing, his dad is also one of australias greatest boxers. Green was the complete opposite to mundine, and IMO became popular because he was everyones great aussie hope to knockout mundine.

Katsidis is probably my favourite aussie boxer, but if he wants to have popularity back home he needs to fight here (maybe have to fight on a green or mundine undercard) and maybe even start barracking for a footy team and be in the media. Unfortunately i just dont think the money is here and he is better off staying overseas.

 

When Paul Briggs had two absolute wars with Tomaz Adamek it hardly rated a mention back in Oz. In fact the first fight wasn't even covered on pay TV............. At the same time Green and Mundine were still hogging all the lime light.

Same thing happened years ago when Troy Waters fought Terry Norris, Simon Brown and Felix Trindad...... The Norris and Brown fighters weren't covered and only a very few select pubs had the Trindad fight. No mention in papers or media ect, it's a disgrace.
