Anyone catch the Watson interview in the Grauniad today? All things considered, he's doing really well and its wonderful to see him dedicating himself to helping others when he's been dealt such a shitty set of cards himself. Interestingly, he suggests that he's more comfortable with himself than Eubank. How much of that is bravado or a defence mechanism, I don't know, but I'd like to think there's a lot of substance to his successfully rebuilding his life. Good man. And ever a good lesson to all the ****s who joke/talk big about damaging or killing someone in the ring without thinking about the reality that we're talking human beings here.
One of my favourite moments in all my time as a boxing fan was the recent clip which showed Watson giving Degale some pointers. Was truly heart warming to see how far he has come.
lets all be thankfull michael is still among us and showing what true heart he really has..... REAL CHAMPION.
He was one of the first guys I started watching. Only being a ten-year old, I cried the night Eubank beat him the second time. It's just great to see that he is doing so well at the moment. I did hear through the grapevine last year that a benefit dinner is being held for him later this year in London and legends from all around the globe will be in attendance for Michael. (Hagler being one)
That would be the one I linked in the first post then! Glad to see everyone else is as chuffed with his progress. He seems like a top bloke.
Great read about one of the most inspirational people you will find...:yep The Peoples Champion...:happy
