Jackson was a more precise puncher than Benn, and wouldn't tire himself out going out recklessly like Benn did vs Watson. I don't think Watson's version of the peek a boo rope a dope letting Jackson hit him would work. And I see Jackson stopping Watson in a great fight.

I don't think a more mature version of Benn would have fallen for that either.
Benn could box when he wanted
I picked Watson for that fight which is one of a few that I've got right.

Yeah the loss to Watson was a wake up call for Benn, it showed he couldn't blow away every opponent. And it was a good learning experience for him.

He went in to that fight so confident he was gonna blast Watson out.
Must admit, I thought he'd do it but Watson was bloody good that night.

Watson was underestimated for some reason, I wasn't born in that era. But Watson was by far the best opponent Benn had faced at that point, and despite Watson not having any big wins. He had showed his talent in prior fights, and after the Anthony Logan scare. I'm surprised Benn and his camp thought Watson would be a walk over. But as I said it was the best thing that could of happened to Benn, can you imagine if Benn beat Watson he would of faced Nunn or McCallum possibly ? That would of ended in disaster.

Oh that would have been a disaster for Benn against Nunn. Unless Benn got a lucky shot in, but that ain't likely for me.
Benn gets an ass kicking from Nunn easily.

Whilst i liked Watson and he was a sound all round boxer, but he wasn't as elusive as Herol Graham was and who was on the verge of beating JJ, Watson liked to get stuck in, which would be a disaster against JJ, i could see him getting stopped by the mid rounds.

Six rounds with Benn at his most aggressive is too many rounds for Nunn to escape.

Michael rides out a few shaky moments and stops Julian late.
