I have thought about this match up for a few days. I can't call it, its a true pick em fight.

Sergio's footwork and speed vs the accuracy and defense of pick-a-boo Watson. Although Sergio can out-speed Watson, I see Watson also having success walking down Sergio with his high guard. At time Sergio would paw with the jab or use less then optimal power only looking for the straight left. Watson has a strong base and can pressure effectively then. McClallum used a very busy jab and punishing body attack to break Watson down as he came forward. I don't think Sergio can do that. Conversely Sergio will have his periods of beautiful boxing on the outside, hands down with accurate southpaw shots.

Both guys have success and it goes to the scorecards a close close fight.

I'd narrowly favour Michael "The Force" Watson as previous posters have mentioned with hum taking a points or even edging a possible split decision with it being a cagey tentative encounter. Watson has a great engine and reserves of stamina so he may take this one on volume of punches. It could still go Sergio " Maravilla" Martinez's way if he is just too evasive and slippery to track down for Watson and he may struggle to get to Martinez with his unorthodox style also if Watson loses concentration he is liable to get hit and when Martinez operates off of his elusive southpaw angles Watson is in trouble. I like both these boxers but my heart would be with Watson for this one.

Martinez had issues vs Darren Barkers tight guard defense, Watson uses a similar defense but I believe at his best is a class above Barker. And would do one better and win a decision over Martinez.
