    Whoever lights the Olympic torch I hope they don't go for the obvious option but make it a bit of a surprise!!

    no. it would look like a pathetic attempt to copy ali, a genuinely great moment.

    Nothing against Watson but it doesn't seem appropriate as he is not an iconic figure or an ex-olympian.

    Your right it probably will be Redgrave which is fair enough I suppose.It would be a great shame if Watson was not part of it in some way and you never know,now Mike`s name has had a mention he might just get the job Im guessing a panel somewhere will decide who does it and their is no way they wont give Mike serious consideration.

    It would be nice to see, but it makes more sense for it to be a former gold medal winner who gets to lit it,

    I think Daley Thompson should light it.

    Would be a pointless campaign. Full respect to Michael for all he's done with the marathon and all that but who seriously thinks he should light it ahead of Redgrave, Thompson, Holmes or Coe? Him even being in the last 20 involved would be a bit of a liberty. If you're looking for someone outside of the Olympics it would be Beckham.

    And do you really want billions of people watching saying "who's that guy struggling to light the flag? Oh a boxer, is he brain damaged like Ali?"

    Should be steve redgrave, watson didnt even make the olympics he should maybe do a relay or something but not light the torch.
