Michael Wilbon to Floyd Mayweather: "Stop Running, and Fight (Pacquiao)"

The media has turned on Floyd because they took his side before they knew who Floyd was. He has never wanted pac. He is pulling a David haye here. I knew Floyd wouldn't fight him...i've been saying this for the past 4 months. He's already retired to avoid a fighter, so the failed negotiations ploy was his next routine. Good one!!:good

 

I generally dislike Floyd Mayweather and the decisions he makes, the **** he talks, and the little actual fighting he does in the ring, but with that said I would have to be a complete moron, supremely naive, outrageously biased, or a comdination of the three to listen to all angles from a 3rd party perspective and come to the conclusion that this is some how mayweathers fought. I think Pac fans are giving mayweather more credit than he is due in his ability to out wit Pac and the boxing community. Someone please explain to me how Floyd could have known that Manny would react to stricter testing policies this way thus creating a "way out" of the fight. I mean please take the WAPACMAN glasses off for a minute and think about it. Floyd could have created a rift over the money, or the ring size, fight date, glove size, or he could have just taken a lesser fight and claimed he was busy (a la his fights against Baldomir and Hatton instead of fighting Cotto). These would all have been easy ways out characteristic of Floyd. Instead he agreed to all of Pac's terms even a 50/50 split and asked for 3 things in return. Stricter testing, top billing, and not to fight in Dallas. None of which should realistically be deal breakers.

Also I have yet to hear one logical reason for Manny not taking the test. All this "standing up for himself" "singling me out" is bull****. I don't support athletes who oppose more efficient testing... period. Put yourself in Pac's shoes and consider this... sign the contract, take the test, prove everyone wrong, beat floyds ass. make $40million (more than twice as much as I ever have)...or don't sign the contract, never completely prove yourself innocent forever casting doubt over your legacy, don't fight in the biggest fight in boxing in the past few decades, sue Floyd and GBP for 75k, fight Clottey or Foreman for less than half as much money, and probably never see close to a $40 million dollar payday. Seriously you choose. If i had nothing to hide there this an obvious scenario.

Like I've said a million times, both of these guys have tarnished their careers and have cast a huge shadow over their sport. Both sides behaved absolutely disgracefully throughout this whole saga and deserve to be dropped by HBO completely.
