This actually isn't a step down in class for the 11-0 (3) Syrowatka as it may seem at first glance, even though he is coming off a KO1 victory over previously unbeaten southpaw countryman Michael Chudecki last November.

Lora is much better than his 18-13-5 (9) record would indicate. Chudecki eked out a hard-earned decision over him last August, swapping knockdowns with Lora.

The Spaniard has come to Poland and sprung upsets over local-fave unbeaten prospects twice before: over Szot & Cieslak. He also went to Italy to pop the cherry of Ballisai, and upset Fedchenko in the Ukraine.

Lora has been down numerous times in his career but is extremely resilient, only ever stopped once, seven years ago.

Norbert Dabrowski vs. Robert Talarek, 8 rounds @ super middleweight

 

Round 1

Dabrowski is sticking his double jab in Talarek's face, backing him across the ring and roping out a left hand when Talarek moves in straight lines with his gloves lowered. Talarek tries to time Dabrowski with a low dip and windmilling left hook counter but Dabrowski is able to sway aside to dodge it and keep the southpaw 1-2 in Talarek's face as he rubber-bands out of the pocket himself.

Round 2

Dabrowski is dancing around Talarek throwing lead left uppercuts at the liver and ducking with his neck bent to press his own cheek down into his shoulder-blade as Talarek flurries at him with spearing rights and scooping left upper-hooks. Dabrowski is caught by a couple of right straights and uppercuts with his gloves held in a loose guard inches apart, but is able to outmaneuver Talarek and deny him more than a single touch at once. Double right jabs popped softly on the stomach by Dabrowski.

Round 3

Dabrowski is throwing 1-2s at throat level and then leaning in with his arms folded up against his face, exposing just his forehead over his thumbs. Talarek is leading with left hooks turned over with his weight shifted forward onto his front foot. Talarek is winding his upper body in and out, loosey-goosey, dodging some of Dabrowski's 1-2s but getting nailed while bending over backwards with a guard-piercing left cross. Very uneven action.

Round 4

Dabrowski is ducking and rolling to his right as Talarek swipes at him with left hooks from mid-range, coming up and flashing a quick light double right jab in his face. Dabrowski is jabbing the body, then up into Talarek's face when his guard drops, and chopping with a left. Talarek is shrugging at his tactics of darting in and out to point-score, goading him to fight up close. Dabrowski refuses to oblige. Whipping left uppercuts on the ribs by Dabrowski pressing in close, then scurrying away. Talarek comes in wailing down with his long arms like a slaver's lash. Dabrowski shells up and leans forward to intercept & stall. Lots of clinching. Talarek steps forward and has to quickly throw his guard up as Dabrowski peppers him with straight southpaw flurries.

Round 5

Dabrowski is skittering around the ring, avoiding the corners with quick snap-turns, reaching out toward Talarek with high right jabs knifed out from his own brow. 1-2s on the abs by Dabrowski bending in low. Talarek is throwing hook and plunging right combos chasing after Dabrowski, just following instead of cutting the ring off. Talarek is backed off by an overhand left on the guard.

Round 6

Dabrowski is holding Talarek off with a steady flow of soft right jabs bubbling up into the guard, leather bouncing off leather with a polite whoosh as opposed to a clap. Dabrowski is caught by a couple of right uppercuts dipping in carelessly, admiring his work after landing a couple of jabs on the point of Talarek's chin. Dabrowski is down off a double right hand and left hook while turning Talarek and scrubbing his body with light shots, but it's ruled a slip.

Round 7

Dabrowski is ducking and rolling around the ring, touching Talarek's neck with his right jab (not snapping it whatsoever, just nudging him with the knuckle padding) and hurling lefts into the belt of Talarek, which is positioned too high over his navel. Dabrowski is flurrying, ducking, stepping laterally to his right to duck Talarek's counterattacks, rinsing and repeating.
