Round 8 Dabrowski is staying upright on the outside, fists bunched together at his chin, elbows tight at his stomach, hopping around Talarek with his legs in a narrow stance. Talarek is feinting jabs at the crotch and then rushing in with lead right uppercuts from outside, selling out, looking to topple Dabrowski. Talarek shoves off with his long arms fully extending to deny a Dabrowski clinch. Light flurries at the body by Dabrowski ducking in. Round 2 Sek is jabbing at Makhteienko and shuffling this way and that in boat-deck-like motions. Sek always seems to be stumbling yet remains balanced enough to place high long jabs on the bridge of the nose and turn over right hooks above the ear of Makhteienko. Sek is taking very few chances, loitering on the outside and jabbing defensively, shuffling laterally when Makhteienko comes in pecking with a double side-arm left jab and thrusts in a right cross at the chest, making Sek cheat his body 45° to his left and raise his forearms to screen punches out. 10-9 Sek
Round 3 Makhteienko is catching Sek with overhand rights on the mouth after pump-faking the jab a couple of times. Makhteienko is making regular contact now but is getting out-landed 2:1 in jabs as they continue fencing at medium range. Sek is waving his right jab in Makhteienko's face and pushing with it, turning Makhteienko's cheek, sloshing in with a left cross that lands messily, skidding up his temple. Makhteienko walks Sek into a corner firing hard orthodox 1-2s, just nicking the sides of his skull. 10-9 Sek, close 30-27 Sek
Round 4 Makhteienko is looping in lead rights dashing in and then putting together pitchfork combos downstairs. Sek is covering up, in a rocking-chair boxing rhythm on his toes, standing off and rolling up deterrent southpaw 1-2s at Sek. Makhteienko is slipping to either side and coming in flicking a double jab and looping in the right. Makhteienko turns southpaw and continues with a lead right hook. 10-9 Makhteienko 39-37 Sek
Round 5 Makhteienko is pumping his right jab up at Sek from a lefties' stance. Back to orthodox. Makhteienko is trying to walk Sek onto a heavy right hand down the pipe. Sek is harrying him with quick, busy right jabs on the guard to keep him quiet. Makhteienko lands the right. Sek backs off. Sek advances. Makhteienko turns southpaw again, popping the right jab. This seems to be confusing Sek, giving him pause. Makhteienko is holding out his left arm, batting down Sek's right jab, orthodox again, snapping jabs off the parry. Makhteienko is working his way inside, spiraling around Sek to get close to him, ducking his jab and wide looping left. 10-9 Makhteienko 48-47 Sek
Round 6 Makhteienko is creeping in on Sek and jabbing his own glove into his face, pinning it there. Right hand by Makhteienko. Sek backs him off with a 1-2 and then launches a volley of underhanded body shots. Makhteienko is pushed into a corner. Sek is going crazy. Makhteienko is hurt by a left uppercut on the diaphragm. Makhteienko jogs away. Sek is hurting Makhteienko with stiff right jabs on the nose now. Makhteienko is desperately rolling the right hand over the top into Sek's eyes while getting pushed against the ropes. Makhteienko is willing himself in close, eating jabs, draping himself over Sek. Round 7 Makhteienko is bleeding from the nose and holding both arms low. Sek is catching him at the very end of a long 1-2. Sek can't miss with it. Makhteienko is getting overwhelmed, forced to exchange with Sek while backing up, proving incapable of such multitasking. Makhteienko is forcing his jab out as far as it'll go, half-aiming for Sek's face while retreating in a constant clockwise trot. 10-9 Sek 68-65 Sek
