    Ottke may return!
Former super middleweight champion Sven Ottke (34-0, 6 KOs), who retired unbeaten in 2004 after 21 successful title defenses, says he's willing to jeopardize his perfect ring record against Dariusz Michalczewski in a big money TV fight on May 24th in Hannover, Germany. "I can do this!" Ottke told BILD. "My former trainer Ulli Wegner will make me fit." It was reported that the Ottke camp had previously rejected the bout. Promoter Andreas Grajewski confirmed that there have been talks with Ottke but said nothing is certain and two or three potential opponents are being considered. If it happens, the bout would take place at cruiserweight. Michaelczewski is looking for a new foe after final terms could not be reached with Graciano Rocchigiani.

    Cruiserweight aye...?

Id like to see Ottke lose, so a comeback is fine by me. Not sure DM is capable at his age to catch him though. ive seen 60 year olds run marathons, im sure ottke can keep running at his age!

D/M is absolutly finished as a fightwer , he has absolutly nothing left from the last 2 fights i have seen.

even before that he could barely thrwo a punch before round 4.

ottke will just circle throw a couple of jabs a round and avoid with his feet D/M for a low key , non event.

but maske v hill was huge as was shulz v the little american so money wise it makes sense.

Ottke never fought at cruiser, and the last time he fought at LHW was in 1998

Michalczewski was WBO cruiser champion in 1994 and since 1995 he was at LHW

I think that this would be a mismatch

I can't see Ottke jabbing around DM, when at his best Michalczewski had one of the best left jabs in boxing. Many of his KO wins were due cuts that foes suffered from that strong jab.
At cruiser they will be slower and thats in DM's favour

Well no more mismatch on paper than the Tito-Roy fight, and the only difference here (but a big one) is that Ottke can actually match Michaczewski in skills and not only match him, but he's got better skills overall.

Interesting fight. CW could be too much for Ottke but he doesn't have to be 200 (and I believe the contract weight would've been 190 for the Rocky fight anyway). He can be 180 or something and with his defense, Dariusz won't outpower him. And any weight more than 185 is too much for Dariusz too.

And Ottke retired in his prime, he absoultely outclassed Krajnc in his last fight and Dariusz was knocked out so I'd pick Ottke.

And of course I'd watch it for FREE.

The oldies are fighting on free TV in Europe.

The sad part about DM is that he was in fantastic shape in his last fight against Tiozzo and he got dominated so there is not much more he can do in preparation, his skills have declined badly.

Ottke could come into this fight with no arms and legs and he would still win a UD.

Needless to say he won't be coming back to call out Joe Calzaghe.
