Complete hypothetical, Moorer does not leave his prime and faces everyone Louis did for the same amount of fights for example he fought Max twice so Moorer would do the same. Yes he’s in his prime always so his longevity isn’t the question BUT as an example in Max’s case do you think he would adapt and overcome? Moorer was 6ft2 and at his best at HW was roughly 215-220lbs a southpaw with heavy hands, quick fists, a chin and heart that survived a war with Cooper (someone Oliver said hit harder then Lenny and Mike) he was a tad heavier and more muscular then Louis so he would have i imagine more strength due to the nature of modern training methods. Well shall we discuss!
I mean, Moorer would defintiely beat the version of Sharkey that Louis fought but prime Jack could defintiely outbox Moorer.
Sharkey was totally clowning Maloney. Not sure how much you can critisize for winning so easilly, other than the quality of the oppnent, though Sharkey fought and beat plenty better.
Yes. They are slow lumbering and clumsy looking comparatively. Not saying they are any less effective in their methods but it's undeniable that techniques have been refined greatly over the last 100 years
Sharkey slow? What do you watch? Again, what are you watching? Sharkey is clumsy and lumbering here? It's definitely deniable, a lot of top tier technicians fought in the 1920s and 1930s.
Yes. Both combatants look slow lumbering and awkward compared to any champion from the last 50 years. I am not saying fighters from the 1920s and 1930s were less skilled. I'm saying their technique and fundamentals were more crudely executed. If you can't admit that, your not being honest with yourself
I think Joe Walcott would outbox Moorer. Bob Pastor would be a very tough fight as well as would Arturo Godoy. A man like Buddy Baer - though limited could potentially score a knockout.
Sharkey looks slow and lumbering compared to someone like Foreman for example? What are you watching? Sharkey was fast for his weight.
Yeah your right what was I thinking. Them losing their balance every time they miss a punch was just a secret technique from the golden days
