You have removed the single most difficult part of replicating the feat right there.

It is not beating these men at your best that is the huge ask, more maintaining that level of performance, over so many fights, year after year!

He fights here against arguably the best counter puncher ever at HW and he dealt well with that. Sharkey had amazing head movement and great reflex.

Again, he faces one of the best counter punchers ever at HW and he's rarely hit cleanly in this fight (although I do think he got outpointed by Max). His footwork wasn't orthodox and I don't like all of his tendencies, but he was quite effective and no way that he was slow or lumbering. Don't you see his head movement? His hand speed? This man made Jack Dempsey look like a fool until the illegal punch.

Closer to the truth than calling it slow or lumbering. Sharkey was athletic and he very good (although unorthodox) from techical standpoint.

Even if you believe that Dempsey beat him cleanly (which is highly questionable), Sharkey clearly outboxed him for most of the fight. Do you believe that someone crude would be able to do that so effectively?

Sharkey was unorthodox, but he wasn't crude. He knew how to box - he could use his jab well, his head movement was excellent and he fought well both going forward and backward. He used his style by choice, not by limitations. It's not like he always fought the same way and couldn't adjust.

Moorer would waste most of them. Too smooth, too well-balanced, too powerful.

Buddy Baer and Abe Simon could blast Moorer out

Actually, 1927 was 93 years ago, not 100.

Galento could blast Moorer out if he landed clean. So could Buddy and Max Baer. Schmeling and Walcott could be difficult opponents.

What would the argument be against the referee disqualifying Dempsey?

If the ref had called Sharkey's low blow of Schmeling a KO, would you give him credit for that victory? And atleast had been winning the fight earlier against Schmeling while Dempsey was getting battered before fouling out.

Of course the nostalgic Louis fans will tell you that he would lose to a lot of the rivals of Louis because it will give more merit to Louis obviously.
But i tell you that MICHAEL MOORER WOULD **** MAX SCHMELLING ,CARNERA,BRADDOCK, GALENTO,SHARKEY. and he would have a very good chance of beating walcott and Baer.
