Mick Hennessy's ShoBox - O'Donnell vs. Cauthen & Fury vs. Power RBR

Round 5

O'Donnell now holds his right hand down below his crotch. Cauthen is not taking advantage of it. O'Donnell's jab reasserted. Cauthen tries to land a southpaw 1-2 and falls into a clinch. A lot of posturing. O'Donnell reignites the action with a double jab. Big left hand is blocked by Cauthen. O'Donnell misses another big left as Cauthen circles to his right. Cauthen flashes some fast punches at O'Donnell but doesn't get much clean.

Round 6

Cauthen circles on the outside and clinches up when O'Donnell comes near. Cauthen throws a slapping right hook to the body from far away. Big action now, both men are opening up and matching hand speed. Cauthen goes back to his circle and clinch pattern. Cauthen with a 3-4-3-2 combo. O'Donnell walks straight forward with his right hand low and is ripped with a hook to the face. O'Donnell shoeshines the body but too little too late.

Round 7

O'Donnell cracks his whips to the body, with his long arms landing with stinging authority. Cauthen is posing and feinting, looking for counter opportunities. A looping left hand misses from Cauthen. Cauthen jabs and gets into his circling and clinching groove. O'Donnell walks Cauthen into a corner with a 1-2.

 

Round 8

Cauthen throws the right hook in a high arc and falls in behind it to push at O'Donnell with his forearms. It's getting ugly, and the referee warns Cauthen for constant holding. O'Donnell jabs his way forward and pokes a few straight punches into the guard of Cauthen. O'Donnell punctuates with a hook but Cauthen answers. O'Donnell is becoming accurate with his high jab and Cauthen is leaping forward out of a crouch to wrap his arms around O'Donnell's midsection. 1-1-2 from O'Donnell. Cauthen is running and ducking, and throws another arm lasso around O'Donnell's waist.

Round 9

O'Donnell is opening up, barking with each shot thrown. Cauthen backs up and keeps watch on O'Donnell's approach. O'Donnell misses a wide right hook and Cauthen punishes him with a shorter one. Cauthen slaps on the earmuffs and pushes his way in, trying to punch with O'Donnell. Cauthen lands a couple of hooks up high while O'Donnell is burying leather in Cauthen's body. Closer round.

 

Round 10

O'Donnell slaps out with some long-armed shots, catching Cauthen's body at the end of his reach. Cauthen continues to crouch, spring, and clinch with short bursts of fast punching few and far between. O'Donnell is held behind the head on the inside and punches the body of Cauthen, favoring his right hand. Double jab to the face by O'Donnell and Cauthen pops him with one in return. More body work from O'Donnell closes out the round.

 

Round 11

Cauthen jabs and retreats. O'Donnell tries to cut the ring off and work his long jab but Cauthen keeps diving in and grabbing him low. Suddenly Cauthen comes alive a bit, with a triple hook up high. O'Donnell pushes him off and they grind a bit more on the inside. A 1-2 from Cauthen is answered in kind by O'Donnell. Cauthen throws a hook, brings a left behind it, and lands another hook. O'Donnell keeps steadily working his jab and getting a few body shots in before Cauthen grabs him.

 

Round 12

Cauthen swipes with his left hand as he falls in. O'Donnell focuses on the body and ignores the negativity of Cauthen. O'Donnell drops his hands and ceases wasting movement when he sees Cauthen coming forward to clinch, and just waits for opportunities to separate and punch again. Cauthen is hugging O'Donnell like a teddy bear. O'Donnell keeps waiting for chances to jab and/or work the body from outside in between clinches. Cauthen throws a few wide right hooks but is mostly just hanging on.

O'Donnell has his hand raised in victory.
