Too bad he is with Top Rank & will probably have to go thru Urbano Antillon next week followed by Brandon Rios in 2011.
Match wont be happening anytime soon.

I thought some of Smith's instruction was pretty good (I'm guessing it was Smith who was yelling to Mick during the fight).

Smith was telling Mick to roll to his left and let the left hook go. Mick often had his head on Marquez's left shoulder which made it difficult for him to throw the hook. Smith kept telling Mick to get over to the other side and when Mick did he was very effective.

I'm not a big fan of Mick's right hand though. It's pretty much an arm punch and doesn't have the power needed at the elite level. Smith needs to train Mick to throw a proper right hand. As he is now, Mick's essentially a one-armed fighter with a heart the size of Phar lap.

Congrats to Mick & team on a great fight.

katsisdis now needs to fight someone he can beat. his career aint going to last much longer if he keeps getting hit as much and as easy as he did today. we all think it greats, but its pretty fkn stupid from a business (ie extremely shortened career) and personal (ie health) point of view

Yeah he should follow the Green and Mundine example and fight scrub after scrub hey mate. Fighters should be encouraged to fight the best, you need to STFU and go back to nibbling Greens nuts.

Depends on how you look at it mate. Arturo Gatti made a career out of it. I really don't think Mick is going to improve his boxing skills that much more to be honest. Luckily there's not many guys that will hit him as hard, accurate and often as Marquez.

He would've gained a heap of fans tonight, that's for sure. I'm guessing he'll probably have about 5 or 6 fights left in him before hanging up the gloves.

Mick certainly didn't hurt his career prospects with that effort..people will want to see him again and his style and skillset are the reason why. I don't see any reason to change anything he does.

and now consider green vs mundine prob got 5-6 times more then that when they fought, boxing is a strange game, i would of expected marquez to earn abit more to be honest and kats deserves more

Mick has a fan base in England and America.he could get exciting fights in both countries.i personally would like to see him fight Gavin Rees.would be a good scrap and would
make the forum interesting as Sallywinder and Josey Wales
would be going hammer and tongs at each other because Gavin is Welsh.
