You know damn well he always talks like that when live on a mic.

He didn't exactly rule out Canelo there, did he?

So the Fighting Fireman gave a decent account of himself, just ran into a younger better athlete?

    Mmmm....kind'a.

Lane was the better athlete, IMO. He possessed the greater speed of hand and foot, etc. Just Gomez had one of those deep wells of intangibles to just keep coming and throwing, even after it had looked like Lane had made some propper adjustments and was taking over (after having been behind in the beginning).

then Gomez took back over in the late stanzas and you could then see the discouragement on Lane's face. He did try to land a "bomb" late, but it never came.

Entertaining fight, entertaining card really.......especially with the surprise appearances by Floyd Jr :good

Nice man, I'll have to check it out on YT. Always been a Lane fan, even while realizing from the get-go that he probably got too late a start to make a big impact especially with the distraction of a demanding full-time job. It wouldn't have upset me to hear about Gomez losing, since he's got plenty of time for rebuilding. :yep

I see you didn't keep a running RBR score, but about how split would you say the # was? Boxrec doesn't have the scores listed; were they fair?

Also, nice job taking care of this! :good I was already snoozing when you sent that PM. :dead

Yeah, I leave the keeping score to the pro's....:p

I waited until after the 1st bell to start the thread. Just to give us "junkies" a discussion thread, and to remind that it was even on. It was kind of under the radar.

I don't believe Doug Fischer gave Lane a round after the 4th, and while Lane may have been competitive in some of the middle rounds, I didn't see anybody really disagreeing with that.
