Two of McGrain's favorites...Compelling style match-up at welter/middle. Can Burley offset Walker's aggression? Who fought the better opposition?
:? I will say that Walker had the better oposition in real terms...p4p, it's a close one. Of course, if Burley hadn't been so roundly ducked, he would have had the better comp...
I wanted to bump this back up for some more viewpoints. Awhile back on a Burley thread, Allan Rosenfeld (author of a book on Burley) stated that he felt that Greb, Norfolk, and Flowers would be too aggressive for Burley to overcome...How about the Toy Bulldog? Tough matchup. Opinions?
Maybe Walker is gunna be a bit too aggressive?? Burley's got a big looping right though, and due to his ringcraft and accurate punching, would be able to land that against the forthcoming Walker. He wont stop Walker with it, but he will land it well i think. Burley would also have some jabbing success aswell imo. But Walker would just rack up a few more points than Walker with his combos and get a decision imo.
I'm pretty sure that Burley would have banged out flowers. He was fast and accurate and had it in both hands. Flowers had suspect punch resistance. Norfolk and Greb are good pics to beat Burley, who would be the smaller man.
BIG DEE HERE= Walker would win but it would be no walk in the park for Mickey as Burley was a great ring mechanic with damn fine power to get Mickey`s attention with.
